14 Upcoming NEW POST-APOCALYPTIC Games 2022 And Beyond

The end is nigh, or so the tidal wave of post-apocalyptic video games on the horizon would have us believe. What is it about works of fiction focusing on society’s collapse that are so enticing? Perhaps it’s the stories of survival that’re most compelling.

The way in which society crumbles – that is, by nuclear fallout, virus outbreak, zombie apocalypse – is secondary to the preeminent tales of heroism, endurance, and community that rise out of the ashes of destruction.

  1. The open-world survival massively multiplayer online (MMO) game is currently one of the most wishlisted titles on Steam, but it will be switching to Unreal Engine 5, causing the delay. The Day Before was originally scheduled for release June 21, 2022 but will now launch March 1, 2023.

Aftermath looks really good. The PS store kinda/sorta had it lined up for September/October, I hope that's right.

Why are post apocalyptic games so popular… hmmm have you looked at the world lately? Its collapsing and its not going to get better without a massive purge of scumbags in power and their puppets… which will mean millions of dead. Either we purge the scumbags destroying society or humanity is done for.

@6:21 "The world… is as defragmented as Charlie's mind" You wanted to use Fragmented. De-fragmented means the world and mind would be well put together and in working order. Also, defragmented is usually a word limited to the process of re-organizing files on a hard drive.

It wasn't mentioned in this video but The Calisto Protocol is also an awesome upcoming nigh post-apocalyptic/horror-survival game set on one of Jupiter's moons I think? Its very Dead Space-esc, probably because the OG devs are making it.
