The 2020 model is SO much better than their previous models but I feel like the 15W CPU holds it back a bit. At under 3 lbs, this thing is crazy light but how important is weight in your laptop purchase decision?

lmao all that empty space tho

  3. EpicWolves

Or just don’t open your laptop because there’s no need to

How about the 15.6 inch screen version? Does it have the same specs except the screen size? Do you have a review of that model? Thx

Is there any touchpad problem in 2020 version? To tell the truth, the touchpad of 2018 version is not accurate and not easy to use as the one on dell and macbook. I am thirsty for an update that could make changes on its performance

  6. 영민 JAY

How did you get rid of those Intel etc stickers???

  7. Faheem

They could have put a bigger battery

5:35 , why on earth do you need a big sd card slot? who uses the big ones anymore? i'm glad to not have to use an adapter for micro sd

Saw this on eBay for $1,299. Pretty damn cheap for a laptop with this specs! @t

Dave, thanks for the great review! However, it would be useful to give more details on the ports: type of HDMI; is the type-C compatible with DisplayPort?

I bought this laptop and first test results: it compiles code faster than my previous Dell XPS 15 with a i7-7700HQ, which is a 45w processor. Dell aggressively overclocks it first, but like a minute later it reaches 100 degrees and drops the CPU clock speed down to very low regions which is an approach which I hate. Dave also mentions this in other videos. LG gram seems to be able to keep turbo clock speeds much better with a 15w CPU, which is ridiculous.

downvoted for the way he scraped it with the screwdriver.

    Awesome thorough review! Thank you!

The regular charger is a bit of an issue. If the usb-c port is in use by a usb drive then you have to charge with the adapter, and you need to have it with you. If it had two usb-c ports then it could charge from one and still have a spare for an external drive etc. It's probably a cost thing and maybe leaving something for next year's model, but it's definitely a flaw for this year and a sales detractor. The Dell XPS has more usb-c's but it is much more expensive.

What is it with you guys flipping laptops.
40 seconds into this other review of the same laptop. https://youtu.be/5CRmlXOThNw
it hits the deck and apparently suffered absolutely no damage. This thing must be strong!

they really should put in a 100Wh battery

  19. Barry Ruvio

The reason why they give you the barrel jack charger is so that you can use the thunderbolt connector simultaneously.

Sorry, but about the RAM, what does it mean that "you get 8GB onboard as well a single slot that you can upgrade"?
I can add 1 stick of RAM in addition to the 8GB that's already there and can't be removed?
What the maximum RAM that I can put in there?
Thanks in advance and thanks for the review

I own LG Gram 14 and MacBook Pro(13 inch, 2020), but I always prefer LG gram because it is faster and lighter.

  22. hallmonitor98

costco had them on sale $1000 off. they were all sold out within 4 hours

  23. NBSTL68

Just picked up the Costco version/ Has the 80WH battery..LG says, "up to 17 hours"…but it is nowhere near that no matter how many battery saving options I set…You said 9.5hrs and didn't even mention their apparently false claim…So, is this just something to be expected the mfg claim is always overhyped? Why would they tell me it has almost double the life it really has? I am getting 8-ish out of it with bright screen andor keyboard lighting on. Keyboard lighting is either always on or always off.. I liked my Dell which would turn off the keyboard lighting after X seconds of non-use and back on at the touch of any key. Maybe that would help here. For as expensive as this is, the 17 hour run time was one of my primary reasons for purchasing it so I am disappointed it was a total lie.

  24. Adarsh Sachan

It was launched for 99K in India currently its selling at 60K. It's a steal at that price

I'm coming back to this video once a time for a good laugh, 6:15. It's just worth it.

I have a 2019 & 2020 LG Gram 17. Like them both — both are daily drivers and have held up great to daily abuse. The 2020 runs much hotter. But today, re-pasted with Arctic MX-4 and now 5-8 C cooler (and quieter).

Love my 2020 LG Gram (17"). I had a 2015 Macbook Pro (15") before this one, and I totally agree with your comment about the trackpad and the keyboard being quite an adjustment on the Gram. I adjusted to the keyboard fairly quickly, but getting used to the trackpad took months. It was a nightmarish transition, but now that I have my settings adjusted the way I like and I have gotten used to the system it works just fine. BTW, this battery is by far the best. If I want to head out to a cafe to work, I don't have to worry about bringing along the battery charger. I forgot my battery charger when I went to work one day, and somehow got 10 hours out of it with still some juice left. Love my LG Gram. Thanks for the review!

I had work buy me this model instead of the 2021 version. LG kind of went a little backwards with the 2021 edition with no longer having upgradable memory. I realize this is because of the LPDDR4X memory, but I personally need a ton of memory because I run a lot of VMs on my Gram. The 2021 tops out at 16GB of memory and tbh that’s not enough nowadays for real productive work.
