"Alexis Ohanian isn't afraid of robots taking over humanity"

    Elon Musk is typing

  2. Sedulous

Elon is right to sound the alarm..Skynet is the end😢

  3. M.S.

Let him wait until they take over his wife and he’s replaced. That’s when he will wake up…

  4. Damaygo

I was JUST talking about the episode "Metalhead" from Black Mirror
    Coincidence…… I think not….

  5. ///

He's already a highly advanced cybernetic prosthetic like organism robot sent from the future to ease us from the genocidal massacre that will occur in the near future.

  6. Jonathan Savich

When she says,"locked in cages like gorillas" seeming as if that's normal or good. What a sicko.

  7. buoyant

I don't care about people that cannot find any decent argument for their opinion.
By the way, what is Reddit to ask its cofounder about AI?

  8. TheGreg6466

he saying it's so far away but once an AI that's self improving and has resources to build it's own hardware, it will just be unstoppable after a short period of time, it's growth could become exponential and we could end up serving these machines before we get chance to pull the plug, these really clever scientists should be taken seriously, on the other hand AI could be the saviour to our species and our planet, i think with care the latter is more likely. these scientists are just guessing as to what will happen, nobody really knows. It will be interesting non the less

Artificial intelligence will either be humanities greatest invention or its last invention. And the most terrifying thing to me is that if AI are allowed to make themselves smarter, which they should be allowed to do in order to further benefit humanity, they will be able to become so intelligent that whatever parameters or laws we put in these AI’s code to protect ourselves they will find a way to override it. And even if an AI’s job is to protect humanity, maybe the best way to protect humanity is to put every human on Earth to sleep for eternity and hide us somewhere or freeze us until the Universes own death. We cannot predict the actions of an AI or contain an AI that will eventually become millions of times more intelligent than humans. And I know that there are real life AI currently in existence but those AI are below human intelligence, in the future we may see AI that are just as smart as people and eventually smarter, because an AI will be able to make itself smarter every second if its existence. If we were to allow an AI with human intelligence to better itself and make itself smarter for just one day it may be able to predict every possible event in the entire universe and tell us which events are the most likely, or it may realize that humans are merely a simple obstacle in the way of its programmed directive.

Plot twist: Real Alexis kidnapped by A.I. and person who talking is perfect robot copy of Alexis.

  11. Prometheus

I think we should concentrate more on creating human/robot hybrids. Should be our next step in evolution.

  12. Noob Attempts

the way I see it is. we would be like animals to the ai. in the future we would be pets or work animals

  13. Dikshant Chaubey

A very simple solution to this problem –

    * Isaac Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics" *

    1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

    2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

    3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

  14. Taterreb

Maybe Alexis IS a robot 🤔🤖 beepbububaap

  15. I love when he says “we’re so far away from the robot overlords taking over”, like it’s going to happen, but we hope that it’s not going to happen in our lifetime. Thanks mate. I already feel better. My question is, if we reach the point where machine intelligence is beyond our comprehension, why on earth would it keep alive literally the only thing that can destroy it (us)? I’m pretty sure that AI way more intelligent than us, could not only disguise itself as dumb but also manipulate us in thinking that whatever bad happened to us, we’ve done it to ourselves, because, well … true AI is so far in the future.

  16. N. K.

This kid doesn't care. AI is dangerous. I DON'T WANT TO GET REPLACED BY BOTS!!! WHO IS WITH ME

  17. Donny

Alexis isn't afraid. Well, what does he and a certain voice activated device from Amazon have in common? I'll give you a hint. It's in the name.

  18. iPoop

Humans are stupid. Ofc they will lock us up. We did that with apes so, karma will beat our ass.

  19. Vroduction

I´ll be there, remember these clowns and laugh about their idiocy. Men is overcoming himself and maybe it is for the better…

  20. maria paz

That funny moment when i agree with both, i just believe that one is thinking about a much faraway future, when the other is talking about the inminent reality.

  21. dreya

oh my god we are gonna die

  22. Honests

Who else actually wants the AI to come?

  23. Pernection

He's isn't worried because he isn't intelligent enough.

  24. Kenny Ken

She talks about AI like they are aliens coming to invade earth

  25. TrangleC

Wow. Now that was a totally useless opinion on the matter and a total waste of time.
If we get destroyed by AI, it won't need to use crude methods like Terminator killer robots. What is far more likely to happen is that at some point the AI will just start building shit without asking us first and we might end up sharing the fate of some hamster who got his habitat destroyed because something way more powerful than it needed the space to build something more important. For example the AI might start building a Dyson Sphere to harness all the energy of the sun and suddenly we are doomed because there is no sunlight anymore.
