Alienware M15 Review – How Did They Do This?

Dave2D review of the Alienware M15, the best gaming laptop from Dell for thin and light performance.
Alienware M15 – https://amzn.to/2CIYCgn

The M15 is 38% lighter and 17% thinner than the Alienware 15. Loaded with the GTX 1070 MaxQ and i7-8750H, it still brings excellent performance for modern games.

What do you think of their first thin and light gaming laptop? Would you get it? The M15 is 38% lighter than the regular Alienware 15 (and has much better thermals than I expected for a thin and light).

Dave could you help me please, I found it now by less than $421.29 USD, on Lazada online shopping website, is it worth it or there is something.

I tried to find out it might renewed or recycled or any kind of used device, but none of those. You can check this out it at the link bellow.

1:26 is the sound I always wanted to hear on a notebook tbh

  4. Zo Bloch

I can’t decide between MSI GS65 and this one. Please lemme know which one is a solid deal

    THANKS DAVE LEE, good review.
I just purchased this model with 32GB of ram priced at $1399 from Dell during the 2019 Black Friday sale.

Do not believe the thermal review. Its pretty far from the truth in reality. This laptop runs very hot, check review by Jarrod & Bob of all trades (even LM can't save it much).

Is the keyboard of this similar to new R2? R1 vs new R2 what do u think? R1 seems better with changeable Rams and cheaper

  8. DTEM

Dave, how does the keyboard compare to the Razer Blade 15 (with 2070 also)?

  9. Cobalt Halo

    Dave:Its built like an alienware
    It feels like an alienware
    Me:It weighs like an alienware….

I ordered i7 9th gen with rtx2070, but is there much difference comparing with a design and the specs of one year older m15 i7 8th gen and gtx1070?

  11. AnbuXizaiah

So i know your probably not gunna Awnser this but would this be worth buying now if not is there a gaming laptop you would recommend??

  12. Johan

I'm planning on buying a 240hz version of this with 32gb of ram with the Rtx 2060 for around $1500. I don't know if I should let the deal go or if I should just buy it. I've tried watching different reviews for many laptops and even the razer blade doesn't convince me mostly because of storage and if we try to upgrade the ssd, it would add a few hundred dollars for the extra ssd for the blade.

Worst Laptop I have ever ordered & worst customer service. At first I received my Alienware M15 R2 laptop. As received the touchpad isn't working at all. Dell replaced my laptop with Alienware M15 R3 – similar configuration. On the new replaced laptop – Motherboard as some issues. It doesn't even boot up. Shows up critical error – boot failure. I am not sure if they even check laptops before they deliver.

  14. Sam S

would you review the m15 r3 and the Area-51m R2?

  15. khwab7

Can someone suggest good RAM and SSD as upgrades for this laptop.
    Thanks

  16. I also like to dual boot all my pc’s with Kali linux lnfo.help/Alienware-i7?ษ no issues there either once you get the Nvidia video drivers loaded up for Linux. Little disappointed in the lack of dvd drive but not a deal breaker since it’s mostly designed for gaming

  17. This guy is straight up lying, bought it on his advice and it is HOT. Did he try to use it for more than 20minutes? Did he actually try playing a game on it? Play any game for more than 5minutes and touch the area around the 9 0 i o p area, its like touching a kettle, mine had issues with hard system crashes almost immediately. Might be a good computer if you only turn it on for 30minutes a day before it overheat.
    Returned mine

Do not buy this laptop, acer helios gives you the same specs for less money AND a better cooling system.

  18. Naveen Neeharika

Hello,I am M15 Alienware user, please do help me with my bios update Dave leee.pls

  19. I own one of these and I’ve gotta say, with a cooling pad this thing runs like a dream and I highly recommend it, you can do gaming sessions for up to 12 hours with ease, after that overheating might kick in, overall great 9/10 laptop

  20. I want it for work, but it's about $3,120 here in AU.

Can anyone recommend a good reliable laptop with lots of space, that is powerful for a budget of about $2,500.

I work as a graphic designer and account manager, so I'm always juggling 20 or so internet tabs with 4-5 Adobe programs running simultaneously + whatever else I'm doing with explorer tabs and shit.

I've always been comfortable with my M14 until it started to break.

  21. Jim austin

What do you think is better this or Aorus 15 x9 (RTX 2070)?

  22. Chinmay Kamat

Can u please make a video on laptops for architecture students?? Laptops that run smoothly while using AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, other 3d rendering softwares, video editing softwares, etc.. and also that can multitask well, while using these softwares together??

  23. Vincent Vaughan

I plan to save up on that laptop with 32gb, 1tb at least, 4k uhd resolution.

  24. Martin Kichukov

I got one and I still use it but the battery is just over an hour, does anyone with a gaming laptop also have this battery degradation problem?

  25. Psyven

The design of the thermal system is okay, but the screws for the heat sink are too tight, and the heat sink tends to push the thermal compounds out of the way, and then the M15 tends to get hot. Now I use thermal pads, I am not saying that thermal pad is better than paste, but that thermal pads are more consistent, and its performance does not degrade over time.

  26. Joseph Cox

This is the best laptop ever I have the 2019 one it has a Intel core I7 rtx 2080ti 32g ram 2 tbssd and 144 FPS and it cost me $2649

  27. Hamza

What do you think if the m15 is better or the acer triton 500

  28. BunkerGT

hey, what 2.5" SSD SATA Hard Drive Cable HDD Connector use to add a extra drive, I have the small battery. thank you

  29. Camo_Cookie

I bought the downscaled version with the Gtx 1060 and 8 gbs of ram to save money. Definitely regretting it.

  30. han solo

Why not get this? It seems at this price point (£1500) it's the best option? I've been a think pad user for 15 years but now I need performance and am willing to compromise on weight and thinkpads have screwed so much over the years and it seems they and Ms surface and others are just brand over substance. This machine seems to give a lot. Even if you're not a pc Gamer (I'm not) and just looking for spec, built quality and longevity, then this seems to tick the boxes… No? If I'm wrong please tell me because I've been doing a ton of research into different machines from multiple vendors for the last month.

  31. La TankzU

Okay is this the r1 or r5 though? I searched for Alienware M15 and I keep finding newer models like r4 which has a lower grade of specs. What revision is the laptop in the review video
