What do you guys think? let me know below in comments.

  2. I can do that with chrome. Or any other browsers. No button but I can drag a tab off of all tabs that are open and then after I just need to drag it to the right or left and it switches to half screen. But I'm sure everyone knew that already.😁

I don't use canary, dev and beta because it's not stable version

  4. Leigh Schulte

That's great I didn't know you could do this in a browser.

  5. Bryster51

Side View in Firefox can do this with Tabs, no need to fun seperate instances.

  6. The correct pronunciation is Canary as in the bird, not cannery where food is canned!

  7. Charles Yates

Or two monitors. That's what I do and going for a third soon.

  8. Abid Patel

Good video and the feature is nice to have, but personally, I prefer just using 2 windows side by side using Windows 10/11 built in Windows management.

  9. Nice touch Microsoft, but unfortunately I was pulling tabs off onto the desktop and creating second pages way back as 2007 first with Firefox and now Chrome.

  10. Jonathan Maybury

Brian, what's the use of this? You can just use another tab and drag the tab onto any square that you want to, in just the same way, you don't have to go through all the rigmarole.

  11. John Shepard

This video would have been great if you had just said canary right , through me off and I had to say canary into Google and check the spelling, yeah it's a Small bird 🐦

  12. Linda Stone

There are other ways of doing this without needing to use a Microsoft browser!

  13. WelshTony1

Yes I know you can do this with Windows by default by putting one left and one right but people are missing the point of this.
You can split this inside the browser then put the browser to 1 of the sides using the windows snapping.
It's not meant for standard monitors, people with wide screen monitors can make use of this for example programmers, they could have a browser with 2 pages open on 1 side of the screen and VSCode on the other side to actually program.
This would be extremely useful to me if I had a wide screen monitor

  14. Well, since I don’t use EDGE, I won’t be using this.
And I’m very wary of some of the stuff you mention trying to do. I got good news today, my laptop has been repaired and I’m changing the stock 2T HDD for a 500G SSD and getting rid of Win11 and going back to Win10 Home, safest way to use the useless OS’s from Microsoft. Carry on and Be careful. 👍🇨🇦

chrome will always be better cuz u put what you want in it not what bill gates forces on you love ur videos Britec <3

One of the first things I do when I install a new computer is disable Edge, along with all the other pre-installed bloatware, malware and spyware.

  17. Oletta Liano

You don't need Edge to split screen. Linux lets me do that. Windows 11 lets you do it too without the Edge mod. Put you cursor over the little square that locks the browser to full screen and Windows 11 gives you a choice of several split screen versions, 2 way, 3 way, up to 4 way. Then you just open new iteration of your browser and put where you want it.

  18. Ken Kannon

Thank you, thank your, thank you for brevity by getting to the point(s)

  19. Paul C

Nothing new here. Been doing this with Chrome and Firefox for years. Just pull a browser tab off to the side and it splits it off. I'm also not limited to just two equal-sized windows.

  20. Stukerman

Vivaldi does the same thing with as many tiles as you want.

  21. ronvdvr

Looks very useful. Haven't Downloaded it yet but hope to later today. Maybe useful for product comparisons as well dual windows for work support. Always look forward to your videos Brian. Thanks.

  22. Paul Adams

So "Canary" is not pronounced the same as Canary as in the bird ?.

  23. x213ERx

I have up on their browsers since 2005.

  24. Janmiller Ty

First thanks but no thanks, second I thought it was a feature for Microsoft edge to be less or not be a resource hog.
    Well at least it's Uninstallable.

  25. rafflesnh

Bri, the 'Canary' channel is pronounced like the little yellow bird that could once be found in some coal mines, rather than a place where tin cans are made. 😉

  26. PJ CB

This is really useful for me when I'm grading students in Classroom and on our grades sheets. I used to just snap two different browser tabs next to each other, but this is much simpler and I won't have a bunch of different instances of Edge open at once!
