AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Full Gaming Review vs 12900K Out Early!!!

5800X3D review out early ahead of review embargo from Xaxogaming. Is the 5800X3D actually the worlds fastest gaming CPU? Here are my thoughts about the results.

bogus test with intel not getting ddr 5 Its not fair to call systems even with amd using v cache, Your slip is showing

Remember most gamers with 12900k get in most games a good 10%+ boost just by disabling e cores which still puts the 12900k firmly in the lead in most titles.

  3. I have a problem with that review, I need consistency in the graphics Its really annoying see more than one comparative graphics with the comparing subject in different order

I have two points to point out:
    1. for the RAM, 3200MHz CL14 DDR4 is proving to have the best overall gaming performance. Yes it is better than "fast" DDR5. DDR4 is faster because it has lower latency and aldo can be run in Gear 1. The higher frequency and architecture of DDR5 have good workstation benefits due to bigger bandwidth.
    2. Testing in 1080p thats how to compare CPU's performance when the game performance is bounded to CPU. Testing in 1440p will move the test subject more to GPU side and show less effect the CPU has done to the FPS/performance.

Please do some more research to sound more professional.

At the end of the day the 5800x3d is kind of a final "hurrah" for the AM4 platform, specifically for gaming at that. With Zen 4 being 6-months away (or even less) at this point I see little incentive to buy such a chip, unless you don't plan to upgrade your CPU for a very long time. It's not a bad processor, but I feel the release timing is just a LITTLE too late in the life cycle.

Today I learned that Daniel Owen doesn't understand how RAM frequencies and latencies work. 3200CL14 is very fast RAM that will respond faster than any DDR5 on the market (that I have seen available for purchase, anyway). Make sure you know how to calculate how many nanoseconds it will take your preferred RAM kit to respond before purchasing, people!

Given the supposed thermal and overclocking limitations of the 5800X3D I'm very curious to see if anyone will delid for better cooling.

1080p all the way. I have a 4k on a 27 inch and it ain't nothing special for me.

The 1% lows is more important for me than the average. I can tell when 90fps or 100fps (my monitor is 100hz) dips down to 75. I got it capped at 60 right now, but I hope there's enough of these in stock. I wish we could get the phenomenal regular 5900.

I only play escape from tarkov, will the 5800x3d be good In the unoptimized intel favoring tarkov??

I m happy to have ryzen 3600 will upgrade to 7000 series nxt yr

This CPU is just what we needed. A lot of people is going to resale their old am4 motherboards, making this CPU the most affordable one ever released

  13. I’m so excited ☺️, my life has totally changed since I invested $2000 with this site above and now I make $20,000 I’m so happy dealing with your platform sir 🙏

you dont look 33 take that for what you will but you look younger

  16. If AMD really wished to shine, they would have used a 6900XT, because of SAM which really boosts CPU performance at low resolutions

  17. Dan Allen

This CPU is not for me simply because I have a 5800X… but damn I am excited to see what AMD manages to do with 3D V-Cache technology in future generations.

Even when if the average fps isn’t the highest, the improvement on 1% lows could make a noticeably more smooth experience. People may think this stuff is ridiculous now, but game devs continue to push things further and having capable hardware will be be a difference maker in new modern games.

  18. Willem Van Duijn

Amd ryzen 7 5800X3D with Rx 6900 xt “Smart access memory” ON! “SAM” increase games FPS extra! 🙂

I just hope this chip doesn't end up like the 3100X and 3300X. I'm currently on a 3600 and B550 combo gaming at 1440p. This will be a huge upgrade and get me 4-5 more years out of AM4 without having to buy a new mobo and DDR5. Will the difference at 1440p be smaller? For now. Next gen and after GPUs it will make a difference though.
