My pixel 6a (Android 13, 5 May 2023) does not have three dots in the middle. It has only a stripe that can be dragged to resize between the two split screens. Double-tapping that stripe swaps the two split screens. But I don't see a way to save the split screen setup to a shortcut on the home screen.
Yeah it's a very handy feature to watch a match and chat with your friend at the same time.
