Building a Website: Team Page – Live Coding with Jesse

  • Post comments:8 Comments

See a professional front-end developer at work.

Today I will build out the Team page. There is a lot of content for this page, so I need to come up with some way to display it all without seeming too cluttered.

This site will eventually be converted into React components and rendered server side with data from the WordPress API.

Hey, quick question. How do you create that cover-up effect where it seems like the banner is going under? I've seen a lot of times and i'd like to know how it's achieved.

Hi Jesse, What's the reason why this website is being converted from Drupal to a custom made site? I'd think that site maintenance in terms of content management, patching would be a lot harder for a normal user and probably would require developer level skills to maintain. I suppose there are some pressing (business) requirements which could not be fulfilled using a CMS & some kind of template. Could you please elaborate on this?

I'm curious. Looking at your HTML page on the left (during the first 3-mins), I don't see any link to a stylesheet in the head. How does that work . . . something different with Materialize?

    I just discovered this channel.
I think it's a really great idea to show a day to day front-end developer work. I'm also a front-end dev and I definetely do not have the confidence to do what you're doing (live streaming). You are inspiring for me!
Keep up the good work 🙂

Jesse on those cards, give it a zig-zag pattern so that it doesn't look too liner.
