CEO can code? Watch Netlify’s CEO code a Sudoku app from scratch in a bar on a Saturday night

Netlify CEO Matt Biilmann live codes a Sudoku app using Netlify while sitting in a bar on late one Saturday night. We recorded this in GitHub’s bar in their office during the 2018 freeCodeCamp JAMstack Hackathon.

Matt co-founded Netlify in 2014. He’s raised more than $44 million in venture capital funding. But he hasn’t lost his coding chops.

Not sure how you managed to get the app to suppress non-integer values at 37:38. I get all kinds of ReferenceErrors whenever I try to type anything, even a valid integer. The error message says "cannot access value before initialization".

im the only one who found that hes not using the formatted array for generating the sudoku? 🙂

for anyone wondering what the problem with the shared sudoku is: the problem is actually in displaying the sudoku values. he still displays the raw sudoku values and not the formatted values.
