This is currently going for £299 – but I'm also looking at the Gigabyte M27Q (£340) and the Aorus FI27Q (£300)

What would your recommendation be for someone who primarily will use it for games and other media? Strongest colour accuracy and black/white contrast would be preferable.

  2. Shanz

This channel is OP. Thanks for the great and thoroughly explored information!

Just bought this today for $309 at best buy. They're on sale. Had a few 1440 144-180hz panels and returned em. Kept the m27Q, my son uses it. I'm using the s2721dgf. I didn't expect to like it so much but it's actually impressive. Backlight bleed is less than the m27Q on my model and I cannot measure contrast levels but my s2721dgf appears to have superior contrast to the m27Q. The Dell is just nicer all around. The gigabyte was only $259 and it's solid for that price & he's used it alot for many months now. I wasn't impressed with the m27Q but I found no major issues either, it's just ok. My son's happy with it and his 3060ti Ftw3 has no issues with 1440/180hz. That's another thing, the gigabyte is 180 vs 165hz on the Dell. That's minor but the gigabyte cost $50 less. The Dell wins in every other way, seems faster, image has more pop/depth, stand/appearance is nicer. Both are good and cheap, should be good monitors for a couple years

Im on the fence between this and gigabyte g27qc-a for Xbox Series S gaming and wife MS office work… both are similarly priced. Which do you recommend? Need an answer before the day ends Thanks.

  5. zoe georgiou

Which one would you recommend between : MSI Optix MAG272CQR and DELL S2721DGFA?

  6. Iffy50

Just so you know, if you buy a Dell they will slap a subscription service on with a monthly fee and quitting it is a PAIN!

  7. ShinMadd

To those struggling against LGGL-850/Dell/MSI MAG274qrf-qd, the MSI is better for gaming but it’s a pain to fix the oversaturation and I think the Dell is better for me for a better media creation monitor apposed to the LG (plus I think the design ugly).

  8. Zen

    Just got one for $224

  9. TheRealDlo

$299 On BB this last few days… incredible VALUE

I literally just picked this monitor up today based on your testing of this as well as the LG 27GP850 and Gigabyte M27Q. I was able to get this monitor at the better price in my area hence why I settled on it. This appears to be a fantastic monitor in my very brief time actually using it. Keep these tests going as this is absolutely fantastic work!

  11. XSeek_ 69

Has anyone bought this monitor and used it to game on PS4? I plan on buying this monitor or the viotek GFV27DAB.

  12. Evan Mansfield

so glad i got this for 300 bucks. Coming from a terrible 75hz random aoc monitor, this changes everything. The colors and the 165hz is absolutely bonkers. It has a sturdy build. Do i wish i could change the color in the back? sure. But at least it is a cool blue.

  13. Bepis

How does this monitor compare side by side with an OMEN 27" QHD IPS monitor? The specs are almost identical except that Dell supports HDR and OMEN does not. Are there any obvious contrast or color differences?

  14. Najvals

FYI you can clamp the sRGB in your graphics drivers.

  15. BatchMatch

So is it possible to get that color accuracy with a screen color calibrator? I am a photographer and I already have a spider elite for that purpose!

  16. Connor Robbins

Could anyone tell me the best settings to put on my f I have an Xbox one

  17. Carlo Fritz

Need Help, my Dell S2721DGF now has a big problem. maybe its defekt? when i have overdrive mode extreme its making huge overshoot and its not playable. it was ok before. any idea how to fix it??????????? Thanks

  18. Horus Morus

I bought a S2721DGF from Best Buy for the same price as my m27Q just to compare the two and so far:

    – Contrast is definitely less on the dell compared to the m27q which is kind of a bummer
    – Backlight bleed is MUCH BETTER, my m27q has some really bright spots on all corners and makes watching any kind of content with black bars annoying
    – the 165 HZ refresh rate on the Dell vs the 170 HZ on the m27q is indistinguishable
    – Build quality is slightly better on the Dell but they're both great in that aspect. I definitely like the design of the Dell's stand because its much smaller but thats because I have a pretty tiny desk
    – the Dell doesn't have any crosshairs or extra gamer features like the m27q but its black equalizer or what Dell calls dark stabilizer is much better on the S2721DGF. Having a feature like that in games like Tarkov where it can get really dark helps a ton.

overall I'm going to go with the Dell and return the m27q. fingers crossed the backlight bleed doesn't worsen. that's really the only reason I'm going with the Dell as the m27q is just as good of a monitor and is usually cheaper

  19. Bought this monitor 2 weeks ago for £299 and I'm very happy with it, the image quality, refresh rate, input lag….. everything is great about this monitor and even more at that price!

  20. xyoxus

Just got this monitor after researching for a while and decided between the LG 27GL850, MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD and the Dell S2721DGFA (A is for the EU version). Got it for 370€ and I really love it. It also suprised me that it actually has 4 USB 3.0 ports, two with the DP and HDMI and two right at the front on the left. Plugged my keyboard and mouse dongle in there, works great!
You can also easily turn the LED strip of via the OSD (on screen display). Just don't forget to set your Windows screen settings to the actual refresh rate, you will notice if you done it right, it will be buttery smooth even just scrolling websites.
Such an improvement over my 24" 1080p 60 Hz monitor before. I just wish there was a 27" 1080p version available too, to replace my other monitor and be able to wall mount them nicely together, now I gotta find something else. Maybe I'll just go with the 24" 1080p version if I can get a good price on it.

  21. Marius Dan

Does it have VESA wall mount? It does not specify on DELL's site but i saw pictures with it wal/deskl mounted.

  22. Magz

I’m thinking of getting this for my Series X I’m coming from an old ish 2017 Asus TF 60hz 4K monitor my only worry this is not 4K so wanted to know does this really matter I think some of the more expensive monitors have too many pros and cons for the price and I can get this for under £350

  23. Gavin Mitchell

Hey sorry for commenting on a older video but I was wondering if there’s something I need to do to get my monitor to 165Hz, I bought the exact same monitor from Best Buy the box and says 165Hz all same specs but it’s only running 60Hz, I’m also using this on my PS4PRO until my PC comes in so I’m not sure if that could be the reason why as well (please let me know if there’s something in the setting I can fix or if it’s a shipping mistake)

  24. TragestyX

One more important thing is that if you register your warranty with Dell you'll be taking care of way better than you would with LG. Their warranty sucks so much ass.

  25. OSCAR MIKE

This monitor is on sale at Best buy in the States for $299.99 right now…which is February 18, 2022…The LG 31.5 inch/32 items are deeply discounted as well…In fact, I'm considering purchasing a 32 inch…My concern is the monitor will be used for "work, movies, and flight sims and when to have time with ARMA 3"…I keep reading about ghosting and I'm thoroughly confused about what to get…I did rush and purchased this moment before Best Buy closed yesterday…haven't opened yet…Hell, haven't opened the PC I've had since November…it's what happens when getting old as I am…everything takes a while…Oh well, regardless…I'm sure I will notice a considerable difference from the large box-shaped monitor I've been using with my Commodore 64 since 1988…(DON'T LAUGH…I'M SERIOUS…sorta)

  26. NaumMW

What OSD settings are u using for the monitor calibration? Also did anybody install the ICC profile from some reviewers?

  27. Mark Griffin

I actually watched this review because it a monitor in class that does not have legs jetting out taking up desk space. Glad to see this monitor is a solid buy will probably pick this one up.

  28. Greg Vandy

I picked up one of these about a year ago and fell in love with it. I've purchased and returned a few monitors since but Best buy occasionally has these on sale for $299 and I couldn't pass up buying another, then another today. All 3 had minimal backlight bleed, amazing speed and no blur. I don't use any gsync or anything as I run a 3080ti and am always over 165hz so I can't speak to that, but it's seems Dell took LGs panel and just did better with it in every way. the LG 27gp850? I bought went right back as it has bad light bleed, and all 3 Dells have none worth mentioning. I even bought the newer more expensive MSI mag274qrf-qd and I was not as impressed, yet it cost $150 more. The contrast wasn't better, although both were fine, but the Dell has better colors. Maybe I just enjoy the heavy saturation even if it's not accurate. I run on Extreme and I'm always blown away by how great this monitor is. We have a Samsung g7 I got on sale for 450($250 off) and It's very nice but the Dell has better colors and the Dell wins in motion blur as the G7 does have slight, buy not bothersome smearing and I prefer the flat Dell vs the ridiculous curve of the G7. Still the G7 is the only one I kept aside from the Dells. The Dell has very slim bezels which is a must for me in a triple monitor setup as I plan to install them on a sim racing rig. I had a gigabyte m27Q as well and it's definitely a step behind the Dell in every way that matters to me and really just didn't compare.

  29. TheYusuf1653

I was using this monitor with factory default settings for 5 months now. But I changed into the settings at 10:52 today. Turns out I was using the slowest response time option, which is called Fast ironically. Thanks HU.

  31. Exotic B73
