UPDATE: Dell changed the way it authenticates the PC. Now it is done inside of the app rather than through the download. It no longer works for non-Dell machines.

When I go to the Dell Mobile Connect app in the microsoft store, I don't see "Install" in the middle of the screen but rather "Get". When I click "Get", nothing appears to happen. Any thoughts?

  3. Victor Mandes

I was able to install from store without registry key. But I got a "Computer does not meet minimum requirements to run this app" I had to create the registry myself. I did not have one. Right-Click>New>String. Also, phone was already paired to PC via bluetooth dongle. Had to forget device and start the setup again. Then everything worked as expected!!

how to operate iphone through laptop or pc ? you have any idea ? plz share me.

    1. If you are using NOT DELL, you need to create 2 registry key (String) to work!
    ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionStore
    a, OEMID = DELL
    b, StoreContentModifier = Dell_XPS

  6. Mike H

One thing to add – for some laptops there is another parameter in the Store Hive in the registry – OEMID. It should be set to DELL otherwise the driver app won't start.

Great idea but it’s soooo slow when I tried to use. Maybe it’s my internet connection?

  31. Talha Saqib

Hi Kevin. Please help me out the Microsoft store says that the app is compatible with the system but when I install and open the app, it says your system does not meet the minimum requirement to install the software.
    P.S. I am using HP Elitebook 840 G3

  32. Doug Gingerich

Hi Kevin, I didn't have the line that was supposed to be changed : StoreContentModifier Registry Value: Dell_Xps in the registry. I did have the install button when I searched for the DMC but when I go to open it, I get a message that says my machine doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Any ideas?

  33. Chilli_x

For anyone who is getting the error "Device does not meet the minimum requirements" once you've downloaded the app. you need to add another string value in the registry editor in the same place named "OEMID" and type in "DELL" as the value. and restart your pc.
