Are you a fan of Bing search in the Windows 10 Start Menu?

My bandwidth is only 600kbps, and search would constantly take up a ton of bandwidth so thank you for this!

just install winaero and disable it from there…… much better and quicker solution plus you can customize the windows functions much more there. dont do it using this tutorial, its time consuming

Why is windows such a steaming pile of garbage? Whenever I search for clearly files it gives me bing results, haha who wants that? If I wanna search the web, I'll go on Google, tyvm. And instead of just placing a web option the search settings (like any normal human being would expect) they flat out refuse: desperately wanting any search to permanently send stuff to bing. I personally just blocked all outbound traffic for SearchApp.exe in the firewall settings. Same results: no more annoying useless web results.

Thanks for this! I have a question tho:
what happens if an update comes out? Do I need to repeat all these steps or they will be untouched?

Thanks for the step by step tutorial on what to do in the registry editor! I don't think I would've been comfortable messing around with the registry by myself. 🙂

  10. It's hard to believe how much technical knowledge someone needs to exercise their right to say no. Thanks for the tutorial. Very disappointed with these sinister practices.

  11. Hmmm

Really funny how they made this search thing so stupid, I can't even find registry edit in the search bar.

You can just restart the task called Windows Explorer but thanks for the video it is very helpful

  13. Thank you sir, this feature has annoyed me since the beginning.

Thank you sir, Windows 10 is a curse & I can't upgrade to Windows 11 because of the requirements. Don't understand how to use Linux & some of my apps don't work on Linux. Feeling stuck without an OS but I will stick with 10 for a while.

Thanks for the great information – one follow up clarification .. I can see that for the "Cloud Search" policy, you have it set to enabled, then under the dropdown you have chosen to disable. Why not simply disable the policy from the top instead of disabling it inside the enabled policy?
