This is great. I'd like to know why MS doesn't enable this by default. I clean so many PC's for people that have hundreds of PUPs. I may start to incorporate this into their Defender settings.
Wait what that's why I installed a Adware by accident onced by when I was trying to install a launcher it created a black screen with a installation luckily I removed it my self my Microsoft shoudk enable that lol
Hi Britec09,
I've had this problem for a few months and maybe you are able to help me, cause I am at the end of my rope.
I have a Windows 10 Pro system and occassionally it randomly shuts down or freezes, what the eventviewer shows is the following:
– Distributed COM Event ID 10016 (The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}
and APPID
{9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}
to the user DESKTOP-IVDUELKAdministrator SID (S-1-5-21-2237603859-871246777-1327026540-500) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.)
– Security-SPP Event ID 8198 (License Activation (slui.exe) failed with the following error code:
hr=0x8007232B
Command-line arguments:
RuleId=dca14e37-0c5c-444f-9b35-1e2f161f5ac3;Action=AutoActivate;AppId=55c92734-d682-4d71-983e-d6ec3f16059f;SkuId=2de67392-b7a7-462a-b1ca-108dd189f588;NotificationInterval=1440;Trigger=NetworkAvailable)
Are you able to help me out?
Thanks a lot…
I have malwarebytes premium do I need to enable this too, thanks!👍
Anyone knows why it is not enabled by default ?
Are windows defender is enough to prevent viruses and adware or malware?
Nice registry hack. Very informative. Thanks.

Loved this one, very helpful….. AJ

Ho just great done the reg tweak now it’s blocking access too folders and programs I am using how do I undo this crap
I guess this might have been asked before, how does WinDef compare to MalByts?
Hello mate. How to disable Windows defender cuz its takin' a massive amount of RAM on my old PC. Cheers.
Yes, I add this regedit and works for me, very good help thanks, Brian.
Will Windows keep this function updated?
Hi Brian, I note you apply this to 32; I wonder if a system in Win 10 Pro is 64, does that require another similar set of instructions as well, or just on 64, please?
Your knowledge is truly phenominal.
Thanks & regards, Jan.
Hi, Is this protectection the as I would get from Malwarebites?
I enabled it using Powershell. I was concerned about being able to turn it off, so I went to the registry to see if I could remove the value or change it to 0. I found the Dword in the WD folder but it wouldn't give me permission to edit it. Can it be disabled with a command in Powershell or how can I get permission to edit it in the registry? All is good now but I would like to be able to switch it off in case it drives me nuts with false positives. Thanks for the tutorials.
Hi. Would you export the key and post on,you’re website so we can just download it and import please, cheers
Instead of launching into this manipulation right away, ask yourself why Microsft does not activate it from the beginning? There's probably a very good reason…
Very Nice
dude your going too fast ,and the thing about candy where did you get that screen ?

I install kershot perfectly after 3 months. Many many thanks Britec09
