  2. GALLINA

you can move from Internet Explorer to Microsoft Edge, that works too

  3. Whatever will i do without the windows defender that I've had turned off for 5 years….

  4. Dana J

Good suggestions all that I have made for years. One other thing on the AV programs, check the Settings and especially the Shield settings (in Avast) to see if you can make them stronger. In Avast, I set the sensitivity to the highest it will go, and check to make sure all the Shields are also at max protection. This will vary of course on each brand of AV, but never just accept the default settings, always see if you can up them to a higher point.
One might also want to use a secondary program like Malwarebytes as a backup.

Does MicroStuffed has a 5 year (or similar) contractual extension to Win7 that guarantees support for extended period of in a Point of Sale shop environment? They did same with XP. You could change registry to identify yourself as a POS workstation and therefore get supported downloads.

ALL HAIL THE KING WINDOWS 7. THE ALMIGHTY KING WINDOWS 7 and for those people who saying to stop using windows 7 and say move on to windows 10(which has nothing but goddamn bloatware and telemetry and update problems) don't have respect for this os before metro ui was created for windows 8/8.1/10

  9. yooperlooper

I only go online in my home office and I do not use the wireless option – I'm totally wired in my office. Does that make it any safer? – using an ethernet cable? Also I have 2 external hard drives that I back up everything on.

i'm not crazy for still using wondows 7, i'm just broke smartass! GFY

If you have no choice but going on with Windows 7 this is a good video. If you don't use the computer for pro music or video editing or gaming, use Linux. You'll save yourself lots of troubles (even though it will take time until you learn and setup Linux).

  12. britec09 channel bluestrcks installer has stopped working windows7 problems solve please

  13. asperand

I would have added: 1) Use a VPN, 2) Enable Windows Defender as a second shield and set it to do a light scan every day, and a full one on Sunday for example, 3) Password protect Avast, put it in "paranoid mode", 4) Download peerblock and update blacklists, 5) Disable auto-run for usb keys, 6) Enable Point of Sale hack to keep Windows 7 being updated (this can cause instability, so make sure you have a backup of everything), 7) Enable system restore, 8) Block access to Internet Explorer, 9) Get Firefox and ad uBlock + Anti-trackers (ie privacy badger), 9) Download Ccleaner and make sure you do regular clean-ups.

I've been watching this guy for 5+ years and he posts some really good and interesting tutorials thanks for all the times youve helped us and remember watching your jigsaw video

The Hated One's channel is well worth watching IMO if you want information about protecting yourself on-line

  16. William Garcia

Windows update seems to be broken in Windows 7, it just won't update.

  17. Jatan YT

I think Kapersky or Avast is good as an antivirus because it has been removing viruses from my computer (windows 7)
Which is good but also you need a good common sense that don't go to those crappy or sketchy websites just to get free vbucks and then just crash your damn computer lol.

  18. Sarah

Also a good tip is to not be an idiot when browsing on Firefox or whatever browser. The ONLY time I have ever gotten a virus in the last like 4 years is when I was playing flash games. Ik, having flash in 2020 super dumb but I was just toying around. Well I ended up getting a Bitcoin miner virus from playing those games😂😂😂 but beyond that I never did any stupid stuff, and just kept to my usual sites and played steam and didn’t visit dangerous stuff like is the Illuminati real, the dark web, conspiracy stuff, president conspiracies, hentai, key gens ect.

Also idk if it was mentioned but having something like Adblock plus and putting on a ton of Adblock rules seems to Really help (at least it helped me) because then, pop ups just cannot load no matter what type they use. Considering they use multiple types of ads if one fails. I would go as far as to even block social media buttons. It’s probably my imagination but it keeps pages running smoother.

I have Windows 10 on my laptop and I also use it for games on my desktop computer. But I absolutely cannot t imagine I would use it as a primary operating system on my desktop where I do most of my programming, part-time jobs or hobbies (like music recording). I just can't loose my installed programs. Even though I almost only exclusively played pc games on my desktop Windows 10 and I used it like 5% of time, I already lost my data due to weird errors twice during last year!!! It's unbelievable how unstable and inconsistent this system is! Weird system errors, weird user acount problems, BSODs I couldn't solve for days…When there is an error in Widnows 7, 99% of the time, self-repair works like a charm but this shitty Windows 10 can't do a single thing about it and even advanced command line repair tools doesn't work. This system if so dumb, it just corrupts itself probably through shitty Windows updates or by some mysterious reasons and then it cannot repair itself. It can't load restore points, it can't uninstall updates, startup repair… I'm not even mentionaning that.

I'm not going to switch until there is better Windows than 7.

  20. Jesus Ninja

Just to add the free version of Avast Antivirus includes free ransomware protection. Zonealarm free is very good at keeping you invisible. Install it and then go to Shield's Up to test it.

  21. TheYTPLord

I’ve seen comments saying Internet security stuff and I don’t wanna pay for one so will avast secure browser do? 😂 😂 😂

  22. I came here not for Windows 7 but because WIndows 10 support is ending on 2025 and my PC is running Windows 10 very smoothly. Sadly due to the stringent hardware requirements of Microsoft for Windows 11 I might need to stick to Windows 10 for the rest of my PC's life so this would definitely help when Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10.

  23. Nomich Lokin

can I use an operating system like Windows 10 until 2025 and beyond with a strong anti virus?

  24. Kipper Klank

Back up in 'the cloud' from some service I've never heard of? Yeah that's real smart there bud. I totally trust that. Yeah totally.

  25. Win Cake

windows update doesn't work on my 7 install

  26. Simon

Also get rid of telemetry services.

  27. Louis Czar

Microsoft just makes EOL seem like the end of the world when in reality, I don't really think any "hackers" will be trying to get the data of most people over the age of 50 not wanting to switch to a brand new Operating System. Just get an Antivirus and your good.

  28. B T Creation

Kya, windows 7 mein gmail, Facebook, whatsp pe log in karna thik rahega??

  29. LJ,Smooth,69

After all this window 10 yeah it is crazy with that being safe but I'm still thinking right now and this time that I might change my computer back to Windows 10 do I need you to say anymore not only that they're updates are literally forcing us and do not having computers because they're out dating our systems with their systems purposely so we have to buy new computers graphics cards won't work properly not enough processor capabilities yeah eventually it would have happened sooner or later but seriously some of us got computers that ain't that old no different from Apple telling you you can't fix it you have to buy a new one when it's a simple fix that's the problem with big tech cornering the markets there's no competition to make things cheaper that's why it's supposed to be against our country's laws our nation's laws that they can't do that but what do we got we got Chinese Apple we got Google and we got Microsoft each controlling their little part of their little sector and no one else literally crushing everybody else not just in performance due to performing against each other but because the people that make apps and stuff have no other choice but to try and use their platforms and their stores that they monopolize and then they come up with their own little apps that are similar but they say they're not copying or got the idea and made one from other people putting there stuff they worked hard on to make as an apps and stuff like that absolute shame they're all comedies communist dictated rules they think they can push and what people seeing here and and collect all the information they want from us and the sad thing is they've been doing so 👍🇺🇸

  30. ShaggyCZ

Just install Antivirus and not use IE (Internet Explorer)

  31. Retro Skaff

Why is administrator a problem? Also passwords are for local thieves. Rural people like me never come across this issue-plus I need to be an administrator to do certain things on my programs I HAVE TO HAVE control of. YIKES I HAD THIS LAPTOP FOR 2+ YEARS WITH TPM 1.2 TURNED OFF… Oh wait, SHA-1's been gone since 2017. I'll still take that RSA 2048 though (til 2030).

  32. Johnboy

can you not run windows 7 as a virtual pc within windows 10 and stay safe?

  33. Windows 98
