The 2018 HP Omen is the best gaming laptop they’ve made in a few years. Starting at $800 this thin-bezeled laptop is worth checking out.

With 8th gen 6-core CPUs and GTX 1060 on tap, the new HP Omen delivers a surprisingly good value in the mid-tier gaming laptop market. The 144 Hz screen brings a smooth gaming experience to the laptop without being super expensive.

Hello. I want to buy a laptop but i really confused bc of the specs and price of these laptops have only little differences. They are HP OMEN 15-dc1090tx vs Asus VivoBook Pro F571GT.
Differences (or maybe you can check):
OMEN: 144Hz, SSD PCIe NVMe M.2
VivoBook: 60Hz, SSD PCIe Gen3 x2, and it has Intel Optane 32GB
VivoBok is only $50 cheaper, and i'm okay with the price differences so dont mind it
1. Which SSD is better between those two? Maybe you can recheck again whether i write them wrong.
2. I want to be logo/product designer, gaming a bit but not so gamingholic, multitasker, i wanna run some heavy programs also like ArcGIS, AutoCad, MATLAB etc. so which one should i take? Thankyou so much
Please test the 2019 model
I was wondering if you could upgrade this like upgrade the ssd and the graphics card
please help me also to buy a laptop ..actually, I am a designing student and always use software like adobe photoshop and all ..my previous laptop got froze in between the work and it's very frustrating. please recommend me few options for the same and for some gaming purpose also .. I am new to laptops don't have any knowledge about it.
Please review the 2019 model with 2060/2070!
love your videos!!!
Legion y540 or hp omen for a casual gamer?
So i bought this model with i7 9750h RTX 2060.The games runs great but what bothers me is the temperatures,so i undervolt it by -0.120v and now temperatures are great.
eyo dave! the new omen 15-dh0700nd seems very reasonably priced in a not too bad chassey. what do you think?
Whats up with the trackpad why i have to click the button for double click rather than double tab on the track pad itself
Is it upgradeable, like Ram and storage?
i liked the video
In 2018 I got this exact one for my birthday. Has been keeping up really well. However, my keyboard looks slightly different but the same specs.
Hi man I'm jakes played! do you recommend this for battlefield 5 game? thanks
Hello man. Have you tried to use this playing Battlefield 5 or Call Of Duty WW2? how's the experience? Thanks man
Why dont make a video about "top 5 gaming laptop for the money" its not about budget but the most worth it for its price. Im more convinced in Dave Lee's recommendations than others on yt
The Omen is nice and all, I just don't like that all the ports are in the back
Would you say it's a good laptop for photo/video editing over the MSI 15.6" Modern Series Creator 15M?
You really reviews best… Thank you so much sir.
I have omen 2018 with 1660ti. But thermals are not good. Gaming temperature are 95c to 100 centigrade. And fps drop on charging. Anyone plz help me
stop flexing your screen ;D
I'm confused between HP Pavilion 15-dk0045tx and HP Omen 15-dc1093TX. Both are having the same specifications but I want to buy a laptop with the better build quality, performance, and durability. I want to use a laptop for at least 5-7 years. I'm using Hp pavilion au 006tx for the last 4.5 years now I'm having some overheat issues. My main purpose is not gaming but build quality and long term performance. I use a laptop for remote desktop connection to my office, watching videos. I don't like to buy another laptop for 5-7 years so build quality and performance I insist. Please provide me some suggestions also (Only hp). My budget is around $1000 max. I prefer a 15.6-inch screen but if it's a good option I will go for 14 inches also.
Please review also the Omen x 17
can you review 2020 model
So far, this laptop is 10x faster that the Acer lnfo.help/_HpPavilion I originally bought (which broke 2 months after purchase). Very reliable everything just plain runs smoothly. Graphics are great. If you change the settings, the battery life is better but I prefer keeping it plugged in and running max performance.
Do one on the HP Omen 15 2020!!!
anyone wants to see the 2020 version ??
@dave Lee I will like to know if I can replace the 60hz screen with a 144hz screen on this laptop?
are we gonna ignore how in the diagram the internals are the wrong way round relative to the chassis?
is the vram 6gb or 3gb one ?
What’s the intro song called
it's not worth it it overheats to 98c GPU and 97c CPU that means fps drops in games and A hot processor can slow down a computer and make it operate less effectively and laptops can be severely damaged by overheating i don't recommend it .
I had the Omen 2017 and after seeing this video, I wish I waited and buy this one instead.
1:04 is it harmful for screen view? Can it damage monitor?
The 17 inch version of this doesnt have fan control or power modes can somebody help me ?
I have zero knowledge about laptops, o just started researching on it. I've been watching a lot of YouTubers for reviews, and for some weird reasons, I ONLY TRUST THIS GUY FOR MY LAPTOPS NOW. If he says its good, I'm buying it
I have a HP omen 15 2018 model laptop and suddenly the left side of it sparked so I quickly turned it off anyone knows what happened? The laptop works fine the charger works and the temps are normal too so what exactly happened?
Edit: when i turned it on windows defender found a virus
I have the hp omen 2016 Wdym it’s ducking beast
15 windows of eve online easy 60 fps… 30 in background.
Hp omen is so bad I bought the hp omen 17 inch for around 1700 euro two months my laptop is out of warranty and it just brakes down (black screen) the motherboard is dead. So you know what that means! The CPU and gpu are soldered on the board so it will be almost the price of a new one.
I use it for like 5hours a week. I Almost don't game on it around 10days total.
If you count the hours I bin on it it will probably be like around 4 months.
Support team is no where to find!
People please save your hard earned money and don't bay this. All this YouTube reviews only name the small bad thinks about this product. But the most important thing is. that the laptops in this price range must be able to get you 5 years of usage for two hours or more. 26 months is just not acceptable. Before baying this check black screen or hp omen error won't start on google and also there reviews about there costumer service !
i have the 2019 version of this laptop, and imo it’s not the great if a laptop, it’s a lot slower than a regular desktop due to the overheating issues and and mobile gpu and cpu, i’ve had it for 3 years and it’s dying, i spent exactly 1000$ on it and got a i7-9750h and a 2060, it struggles to play games on high settings, i only get 40 fps on high settings on almost every game i play, if you want a cheap laptop i wouldn’t recommend this, it seems powerful looking at the specs but i would recommend saving up for a desktop for that extra cooling and no mobile processors.
