I spent Β£30,000 to purchase a Sony BVM-HX310 mastering monitor for use as reference in my TV reviews & comparisons, but now I’m so regretting the decision, due to the release of the new Sony BVM-HX3110 which offers many advantages over the HX310, including 4000 nits of peak brightness on a 10% window.

Wish Sony would make an incredible 4000nit dual layer LCD consumer TV – but I guess there are no economies of scale for that a reasonable price.

Now I just wonder why is content graded with raised blacks? I've seen so many shows/movies that on purpose have raised blacks as in graded to have raised black floor. Why?
