Have you tried it on old hardware? let me know below. Drop us a LIKE 👍

  2. I use Acer Aspire V5-431 laptop that is 10 years old now (quite outdated), and I would rather stay in Windows 10 for now. Gonna save up some money to buy a new Windows 11 supported laptops instead of forcing to install Windows 11 in my current unsupported laptop, because I know if I installed it in my very old laptop, it might be unstable and unable to run/update some features properly

The real question: Is there something wrong (measured by the user's satisfaction) with Windows 10 that would be fixed by a cumbersome installation of Windows 11 whose future support is not guaranteed? Some before-and-after bench tests comparisons would be nice. One more thing, I like your channel, but quit making some people feel bad when your "old computer" example is newer than theirs.

Thank you for this, Brian! I still need the WIn 11 lite iso tutorial!

I downloaded "Windows To Go" onto a SSD . I took the hard drive out of an ancient Acer Aspire 5532 with an AMD CPU and 4GB of ram. Put the SSD in and Windows 11 runs fine.

Thanks for the great video, in the creation of the USB drive minute 3:43 or so in Rufus your version 3.18.1877 there's a choice or opinion Image option, I don't have it, any idea why, please, thanks again

I think eventually Microsoft will come out with a fully supported windows 11 fans edition or something like that, that will bypass all those nonsense requirements and they might use it as a tool to send targeted ads straight to users

Why would anyone want to put W11 on anything. Maybe by the time they bring outW14 they'll have W11 working correctly. I'm waiting for a new SSD to come and then I'm going to put Linux on an old computer that went bad. I'll learn Linux, then drop Windows altogether.

Hi my HP compaq presario CQ56 caps lock is blinking 1 times and WiFi button is amber orange, I tried all sorts but in vain. Any help

  10. John PS

Hopefully Windows 11 will give Linux use a boost.

check the beta of rufus wich has the setting to overide more options on the custom made installer you can disable the Microsoft account and disable privacy settings and skip those questions

How are MS being allowed to get away with this by for instance the EU and I know were no longer part of that club, but why are they not taking action against MS and saying that they must make Win 11 available to all pc owners regardless of hardware and then the British Government or Trading Standards could jump on that as well. Its wrong that the giant MS are forcing people who maybe cant afford to buy new PC`s and laptops in this cost of living crisis to actually do that. THey are in collusion with people like Intel and Dell etc, to sell NEW machines when most people have perfectly serviceable PC`s and laptops?

  13. Who in their right mind, would install this load of bloated spyware, anywhere??

  14. kevin sahm

I installed it on a desktop from 2008 that i did a few upgrades to and it worked really well even on that old box lol.

I have install windows 11 on a old hp Compaq laptop actually it runs better than windows 10 the fan doesn’t run all time now.

While it might suck somewhat that Win11 won't run correctly on older hardware, I think you need to ask yourself why you're wanting to put Win11 on a 10yo computer in the first place? When you look at the speeds of the memory used, CPU, Wifi (if it's got it) and drive specs (not to mention the outdated USB2.0 ports) – is it really worth it in the end?
I'm all for keeping hardware alive and generally do so by repurposing them for projects (gaming machines, jukebox etc). Running Win11 is never a requirement for them as they're not daily driver computers. Even older laptops that only have 2GB RAM would barely run Win10 (even with an SSD upgrade). And in those cases (depending on whether it needs network access) is whether it keeps whatever Windows is on it or swap it over to Linux. 8/10 the answer is change it to Linux instead.

Yes mate I have been using Windows 11 on my old Ivy Bridge build now for some time in fact I am in 11 right now. It has been updating with no problems but I am guessing you are right as soon as updates for 10 are over then so will updates for 11on unsupported hardware. But another great video so that at least one can get a feel for Windows 11. I also agree that it seems ludicrous that Microsoft just cannot change the rules and allow unsupported hardware to be used even if it was at a limited level it would certainly do something for their credibility. Keep the great videos coming Brian they are one of my daily favourite picks when firing up my machines 😄

Se don't install win 11 in low end unsupoted laptop I have installed and now I am suffering
Literally it takes 5 to 6 minute for restart and shutting down
And 1 min to turn on even when I have SSD not hdd
I changed it to win 10 again and its better now so fast taked 2 to 5 secfor shutting down and 20 to 30 sec for turn on

  19. Malcolm Sillick

I must say that Microsoft are being a bit silly over this. My main PC, which I built myself, has a 6th Gen Intel i7 and 32Gb of RAM and a Asus mobo that I'm sure supports the TPM 2.0. Yet I can't install and run Windows 11, but I could if the PC had a cheap slow 8th Gen CPU and 4Gb of RAM. Just cannot understand the logic here!

  20. Martyn Page

You don't like my comments….I can live with that….BUT what I don't understand is in one video you are telling people do not install on unsupported hardware and in this one you are showing them just that?!! What a joke!

  21. Terry Daktyllus

That's not an "old laptop" – that's "one of the earliest laptops that a bloated and privacy-hating OS like Windows 11" will actually run on, a big difference.

You try your Windows 11 on a Thinkpad T60 from around 2006 with a dual core CPU and 3 GB RAM and tell me how well that runs – because I'll just show you the same laptop running much faster and better with a proper OS like Linux.
