Huh thatās weird..IMO the proximity sensor for the pro models shouldāve gone under the display too since samsung phones has done it years ago with no issues whatsoever.
Why not just a little little notch in the screen?
Itās been about four years since I last updated my phone and thought this coming year would be it; Iāve been waiting for Touch ID under the display to make its appearance! š¤š¼but these notch predictions sound great, not too sure about the buttons, though
I personally think that still , it is nonsense to have tiny notch . I will be waiting for the %100 screen without any notch
The ambient light sensor on the iPhone 13 Pro is in the notch I just conducted an experiment to determine where it is.
I thought this would be the case for a while but this confirms it. And if Apple doesnāt do it, I guess my iPhone 7 Plus will have to stretch until the iPhone 15 or 16, because I wonāt upgrade without it (for the transfer speed).
But truthfully, I kinda hope they blow everyone out of the water and put Thunderbolt 4 in, because thatās the speed that would make ProRes on an iPhone a Pro feature.
(Oh, and with MKBHDās mathā¦. No more 128gb models. 256gb base. Or even 512gb. And 1-2TB models are the high end).

APPLE SUCKS! I was excited about the hole punch. But they always have to make tech from the Stone Age. It had to be pill shaped? what a bunch of assholes. Tim Cook needs to be shit canned. What's the point of removing the notch to replace it with a bean? Why don't they just make a solid screen and leave a space like the old iPhones. Apple I'm done! your designs SUCK

The Ambient light + proximity sensor of my 2019 Galaxy Note 10+ is also under the Display. So why didn't Apple does this to made the notch smaller in past?š I don't say they could have done this whole punch design with face ID in past, just reduce that notch year over year since it is TOO UGLY to spend over 1000 money for thatš©. I don't hate Apple but damn it is so UGLY even on iPhone 13. They could have done better for that price they asked for.
Samsung and others at least try to improve year after year so that you can buy a new phone after 2-3 years but Apple did the same 4 years Long…
Okay I have to say this: I would rather use notchless under display camera phone with a fingerprint sensor (which is just faster and better) than Face ID.
Nobody can hack a fingerprint reader so easy like Apple would love to. That "Face ID is so secure" doesn't play a role! A notchless Design would be more a reason to buy a 1350ā¬/$/Ā£ phone… For all those are saying "the under display camera is not good" look at the Xiaomi MIX 4. It is really good and that Display front Design is just something I really would wish becomes standard.

Definitely a strong possibility. All points made are valid. I had upgraded to the 13 Pro from a XS. Iām pleased with the 13 Pro. I am not sure about upgrading to the 14 Pro unless it justifies for me to do so. All in all, that 14 Pro design is the bomb. š„š„š„
they wont remove the sim card tray as many contries dont have e sims available yet maybe in the future but not now.
It seems obvious to me that a pill shaped opening is for the instruments but it will turned into a an even smaller notch since there is no reason to have a small screen region above the pill shape and besides the notch is iconic Apple not the pill shape.
Finally I can upgrade from my XR!

7:35 sams as I thought last year. it is like the under the display camera may affect the picture quality, yet it does not affect the light quality. it shines and it detected, wide range of color really just does not matter that much for FaceID.
One set of Apple engineers are busy removing notch from iPhones while other set has placed a notch on the macbook displays. Anything is possible while Tim C is there.
I still don't understand all that obsession about the notch.. Me want better quality.. no better lookability..
I prefer bigger lens and sensor, bigger speakers etc.. I want better IQ, overall better quality, Quality is to me 100x more a priority than any "lookability" as risible (to me) as that "notch gate".
I would like the return of 3.5 jack so I can charge while listening/speaking with any headphones ! How is it possible that such a stupidity was and is possible in this era ??! Sudently, we could no more do these ultimate basic two things : charge AND using headphones !! Why not 2x lightening ports then ?
But no.. people are going crazy for notch vs no notch.. and would accept to pay even more hundreds on top of already more than a full thousand of euros !
I'm really passionate about the iPhones, I do know the why and what make me love that ecosystem (closed highly optimized : able to bring constant performance!), but the only thing I still don't accept is that 3.5 suppression !! All this just to sell you these costly and health warning Bluetooth antenna you people are just happy to put INSIDE your ears !!

Off topic, but can you compare the MacBook Pro 16 (M1 Pro version) with the new HP Spectre x360 16? It looks like a compelling one even though it is a Windows laptop.
