Long over due to be honest. It is great to see Casio finally takign their much-loved digital classics and freshenign them up with better materials. Why the price spread though? Perhaps you know, because I don’t! Cheers, Jody

Only "Beta" males can pull off these female style & size watches, "Alpha" males wouldn't even notice those girly watches, I'll keep my 54mm GWF-A1000 Frogman on my 8'1/2" wrist till G-shock engineers something better. Jody your still "The Man" even though you put that little thing on our wrist!

I have the GA-5D. I love it but definitely agree on sapphire.

I wonder if Casio will bring back the DW1000 200m WR with stainless steel case, that first came out a couple of years before the GShock came on the market back in 1983. I still have the original case, minus the module that died a couple of months ago. I still have the original receipt when I purchased the DW1000 in the Philippines back in 1985. It cost me ₱795. Converting that currency back to Aussie $, the watch cost me $54…thereabouts. It seems that the word vintage is now becoming the flavour of the month word. Anything up for sale that's "old", it's must be considered rare, and thus must attract a premium price. Just look through Ebay, with many so called rare watches with a asking price in the tens of dollars, if not in the hundreds. If a watch is that rare, why use Ebay, when going through an auction house may produced a better selling price. Because the auction house takes its share of the sold price.

I was wondering if you were into the stupid Shakira thing. Glad you are not

It does look very classy for what it is and for me deepens the mystery behind the plastic Seiko. I still don't understand what they were thinking 🤔

Interesting you mention the crystal, I completely agree, it's a lot of cash for an easy scratched watch. My own particular bete noir with Casio is their MRW-200H. I absolutely adore this watch, it was my daily driver for years, an actual real "beater" watch (not that I don't take care of all my watches anyway) but please Casio at the very least fit with a mineral crystal. Yes I know I could just use Polywatch every now and again but it's such a perfect watch in many ways, perfect size (IMHO), feather light (I like light watches), day and date display and very robust.

I personally love mother of pearl. I do see how some would feel it’s very feminine in design. I love the color effects of it and the texturing it provides.

Cant believe the junk of yesterday have become ( or slowly becoming ) the luxury of today. The value of watches is in perception and tastes are historically circular

Kinda blah. Casio just needs to produce the A-158 in stainless steel.

If Casio would produce an A158 with metal case, I would beat down their door with a big stick and hand over a large wedge of cash.

I've had the one on the far right in your pic, with the Oyster-ish bracelet, for about 18 months. Very nice.

I’m sorry but how much !?!? Just for a metal case 🤦‍♂️

I must admit I think they are bit expensive for what you are getting here. I'm surprised since I look at Casio more as novelty, fun watches that cost peanuts with some retro, nostalgic appeal, like swatches. There is a price point however that I consider "significant" and would put the money towards something nicer. I think these hit that point for me.

Thanks for the sponsorship disclosure: Casio seem to be one of the most hyped and beloved brands of watch YouTubers. I appreciate the transparency here.

Casio doesn't interest me but you get a thumbs-up anyway.

I have the 1BE and I bought it even though it was marketed, though not by Casio themselves, as a ladies watch. I also think the steel with white mother of pearl is perfectly wearable for a man.
The only downsides I have is the legibility of the negative display and, well, the price. I bought mine second hand for a reason.

    I'd also kill for a metal A158 or AE1200!
