Running out of content so making click bate titles to say the same about the same product ?

  3. Saan Saephan

Just recently ordered m2 mba. I’m hoping the heating issue doesn’t fry the motherboard like my previous late 2013 MBA.

After watching dozens of reviews, I’m convinced many YouTubers hate the M2 MacBook Air because it doesn’t perform like their 14” and 16” MacBook Pros since their normal workloads require machines that powerful. Yes, it’ll get hot if you render 8K Red Raw video, but two years ago, people needed a Mac Pro to even think about doing that, but this fanless computer can still do it. And yes, let’s artificially crank up CPU/GPU to 100% using Cinebench for over an hour and have Pikachu shocked face when it throttles. And copying that 50GB folder took twice as long. How many people copying files of that size with any regularity would buy a 256GB drive anyway?

The M1 Air was widely praised because: 1) the Intel versions were trash, and 2) the 14” and 16” MacBook Pros didn’t yet exist. Did they expect revolutionary leaps every iteration? You can only leave Intel once.

The amount of M2 Air dislike videos I’m getting served. I’m getting my air this week and I’m so hype after upgrading from a 2012 mac. My colleague has the M1 for work and days it’s never gotten held up for the work we do so perfect for what i do daily and I love the design changes so it’s worth a little splurge. Each their own

Philippines market price for base model M2 MBA is at $1376. Haha. Sadness overload.

Yeah I’m getting really fed up with how blown out of proportion the negative videos from other content creators have been about this laptop! i’m getting mine in August and I saw it in Best Buy yesterday and I thought it was a simply amazing little computer 💻 🥰🙌🏻☺️👍🏻 Youtubers are really over exaggerating their negative feedback about this laptop. And it’s a shame they’re doing that! Because this is an exceptional laptop! Deserves to be praised! I’m so sick and tired of people throwing so much shade and hate at the M2 chip.

  8. It is definitely better than other PCs at the similar price range. However, the downgrade of SSD and increased price tag compared to M1 air just throws everything off….

  9. Aluciz

I have M2a and it's incredible so far.
It's just if you can't afford it then choose something cheaper. And if you already have m1 , you don't need to buy a new one yet lol. Unless you really really need it or have alot of money to spend.

  10. Pikkiiz

In Thailand M2 base model is 34% more than the M1

  11. Considering your suggested use for the M2 Air… there's no real reason to choose M2 over the previous version, not to mention upgrading from the M1. None that I could think of at least.

  12. ERG

excellent review , level headed and not leaning towards the sensationalism I've seen from other bloggers eager to get attention and traffic to their sites, MBA was created with a user segment in mid that would not be doing heavy processing, so , all those torture tests done by those bloggers are meaningless, said that, M2 entry should have better performance than M1 , I think Apple failed there and that is what is causing most of the complaints, I would never order a base model since I plan to use that lap top for at least 6 years, the incremental cost on a daily basis is peanuts and, for me, the satisfaction of this new model out-weights the incremental cost

  13. The K5

Nice vid, dude. I went with the 10 Core, 16 GB, 1 TB upgrades and 67W charger. Having the ability to charge it as an expense makes the hit significantly less of a butt stinger. With these specs, it's gonna be a beast, I reckon. Yes, I could've upgraded to a 14' MBP, but I need the portability and type a hell of a lot. It just isn't right to write.

  14. IC

It's a premium product. If it's too expensive then there is always Dell XPS there for you.

  15. kwl189

Simple reason. The price increase. Global inflation is a thing but given Apple’s access to economies of scale, the sheer scale of abnormal profit they are attempting to make on this Macbook Air, combined with the grossly underwhelming performance gain and effective performance penalty, means that the market in its majority states an emphatic no.

  16. I was in a mental gymnastics in the past few weeks deciding what to buy. First, I bought the MBA M1. I will consider it as more than what I really need. However, due to my pathetic minding of the aesthetics, the old design made me eager to get a redesigned one. Should have gotten the M2 Air but I ended up with 14” MBP.

Here in PH, the current price difference of 512 and 1 Tb 14” is just $100 so it is a no brainer that I jumped to 1 Tb. I know that M2 MBA is okay as it is despite the nerfed SSD of the base model, but I can’t stand to think that I am cheated with such. Hence, I passed on considering the base M2 MBA. The 512 (and base model) M2 MBA is currently expensive in PH and for +$300, I can have a 14” 1 Tb. For the screen, +8 gig ram, and +512 gig storage… that $300 is freaking worth it.

  17. Paul Maine

I thought about buying one, but I’m going to wait till next year and stick with my old windows laptop (it’s a heap but it still runs, just) 😁 great video to help make my mind up 👍

  18. Who cares, its just a laptop, every year a new laptop comes out, eventually apple fixes all the issues. I feel these type of content creators just need to talk about anything like the news, just to keep your attention unnecessarily.

  19. Ed Du

Uhhhmmmm…..No many do if at all. What a sucker title

  20. Joe Filter

Its too expensive and limited by Apple marketing, who hobbled the M2 performance by preventing the use of thermal mitigation. It’s fine but a betrayal of moving forward.

  21. I had MBA M1 base model and then upgraded to M2 base as well, I don't feel it's a downgrade in fact I feel it's faster. I only use it for work, open a around 10 chrome tabs, 2-3 safari tab, 2 spreadsheet, 1 pdf, 1 word, zoom, skype, and a few work apps at the same time and man the computer can handle it without a sweat. I was scared to upgrade because of the reviews but they are all wrong.

  22. Ty Ron

I returned my M2 MacBook Air, was a total rip-off its gets so hot you can’t have it on your lap longer then 5 min before it starts to melt your legs off and the screen kept dimming while watching movie’s, its like why have the new brightness if i can’t even watch a movie without the screen dimming ? The MacBook Air is a complete disaster

  23. I have an M1 MacBook Pro Basic model and it's been a real workhorse for me. It works flawlessly and no problems with the 256GB Hard Drive or Ram, it's on about 12 hours a day and never fails. Sorry to see and read that there are issues with the M2. This may change my next purchase. Instead of an M2 laptop, I might go for an M1 24" iMac with 16GB RAM and a 512 Hard Drive. Great channel, love your videos. Thanks.

  24. Nathan Reedy

You make some really good points here. I did not buy an M2 MBA (I am waiting for the Rumored 15" version) & I think you are right about the shortcuts that Apple made with this machine, although some of them i.e. the slower SSD can be eliminated by upgrading to the next storage tier. I think that everyone's 'expectations' were super high following the M1 series enormous success. Considering that I am waiting for the Rumored 15" version though, I am now hoping that machine will go straight to an M3 chip on a smaller die & so it doesn't use as much power & doesn't produce as much heat & then throttling will hopefully not be an issue (as long as you're not pushing the machine/M3 chip to it's top limits of what it is actually in real life designed & capable of doing).

  25. Garrus Vakarian

Asus Zenbook is the same price as the base Model M2. But you get a superior and faster Ryzen chip (CPU and GPU), a 14" OLED that runs above 60hz, and the base 16GB/512GB specs you expect. So it is already $700 cheaper than the same specced Macbook Air and it has a superior screen and CPU and GPU.

  26. Arav Prasad

    Problems – Users Solutions

    Thumbprints – Use a case
Scratches – Gently use / Skins
SSD speed – NO ONE CARES
Performance throttle – It’s anyway a light use Mac

  27. Garrus Vakarian

The M2 Macbook Air isn't premium. They should have just removed the webcam and the notch and relied on continuity only, or added a lip like the Lenovo model. Get the screen refresh up to 90hz at least. Get base storage to 16GB/512GB. Without that, it is just a terrible laptop compared to other laptops.

  28. Mark Moore

Lol, if it started at $999 none of that hate would be there. It’s jacking up the price.. that’s it.

  29. The notch ruins it for me, also i think they are just turfing out gear because everyone expects them too rather than waiting for a decent period to innovate. I love my apple gear but i hope they see the light a little this year was the first year i got annoyed by bringing new features to the m1 iPad Pro’s, features that should be available for all i own an ipad pro 12.9 2020 model which i picked up in 2021 on the basis the os would improve and external monitor support of a decent calibre would come. Furthermore picked up the iPad mini 6 too both of which get next to no new features. For one ill slow down on purchasing and upgrading from now on. If i was buying a laptop now id still go for the air m1 think it just looks better IMO. Let’s see what they turf out in the fall…

  30. Jack Wong

I don’t hate it, new design, new chip, but slower SSD, bump up us$200, and did not kill 999 Air, Apple is so nice already.

But then a lot of people are trying to use a fanless Air to do encoding as full time which I don’t understand… Maybe Apple didn’t make it clear enough to all of us.

  31. Mangold

if the M1 have the 500 nits screen I would care of the actual M2… and I was waiting for the M3 …. BUT….
