Motorola RAZR 2022 | Unboxing & Full Tour | Samsung Flip 4 Killer?

Unboxing the Motorola RAZR 2022, a fresh foldable smartphone boasting upgraded camera tech and the same Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 performance as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4. You’ve also got better battery life on the Moto RAZR 2022 vs the previous generation, updated specs – and all for a UK asking price of £949. This hands-on review tests out the camera, gaming chops, battery life and everyday experience.

The Motorola RAZR 2022 serves up a 50MP primary camera sensor with OIS as well as an ultra-wide 13MP shooter. That main sensor can be used for selfies and record up to 8K resolution video, making it flexible and quite powerful too.

Motorola’s well-sized external screen can be used to check notifications, fiddle with media and run basically any app on the RAZR 3. Otherwise, open up the phone and you’ve got a 6.7-inch AMOLED display which is great for media and even gaming. That 8 Plus Gen 1 can handle Genshin Impact, PubG, any Android title you throw at it.

Battery life is also better on the Motorola RAZR 2022, although not as good as many flagship rivals. It’s comparable to the Samsung Z Flip 4, offering 5-ish hours of screen on time.

That’s my hands-on review of the new RAZR, so are you tempted at this price? Check out my coverage of the other best foldable phones of 2022 for more ideas!

Thanks for checking out my RAZR 2022 unboxing! Definitely a fan of this bendy phone, but are you tempted for £949? (Oh, and please ignore any scammers asking you to Telegram them, that ain't me!)

  2. Matt Allen

Hope the whisky went down well… thanks for the review as always chap

  3. ITYADI

Is the crease situation better than the flip 4 as I was impressed throughout the video with how little it was noticeable but maybe because of the lighting and camera angle?

  4. Hem Shah

It's better to buy flip 4 for £750 and also we get free galaxy watch 4.

  5. DebX-YT

Better than any folding phone… waiting for the Xiaomi one

  6. Panos P.

what about software support Mr TechSpurt? Many thanks for your review

  7. EmptySergeant

It will kill the flip, and itself by challenging it to fold a few times

  8. Maaaaate, sorry fella but that ain't anywhere near Aussie talk or slang. Nice try though 'Jolly ol' chap' I suggest you have a few beers (pints 🍻) down at the local first with the 'lads' to get the twang right. You'd sound a hell of a lot closer to it with a few VB's in the belly first.

Don't think foldable phones going to be a hit, it's solving nothing unless you are genuine midget. Who wants a thick slab, not me. Who wants a subpar screen which scratches easy, not me.

I'm seriously tempted by this. I only got my Z Flip 3 in February but been disappointed with the camera and battery life. Wondering if this is enough of a step up to justify the money.

  11. Will never understand hype over folding phones, all I see is too many stuff that can break.

Just ordered mine off the Motorola UK website, saved £95 with the 10% offer from subscribing, I should have it in my hands in a couple of days time, cant wait. Not sure what to do with my trusty Razr 5G now?

  13. The thing that kind annoying me is the software support from Motorola which still underwhelming even more so when you pay premium money for the device… otherwise it would be a very good alternative to Samsung flippin phone

  14. £949 is STILL (at most) £200 MORE than the price the three variants minimum price released in China though… 😠 So, with the specs of this UK variant (8/256GB) £849 would have made MUCH MORE of a realistic price – especially when there is no water resistance unlike it's competitor – the Flip4… 😒😒

I can see the battery percentage and it doesn't look good. I have the first generation and I was disappointed on the battery life not lasting.

  16. Tech Matt

Surely I'm not the only one that dislikes that Motorola decided to change their nostalgic design in favor of what's effectively a Z Flip clone with a larger front screen? Part of what made the original model cool was the design in my opinion.

  17. I like Moto…Moto is now uprising in India again. Is Motorola now a totally Chinese company ???…plz reply

  18. Max Cooper

It would help if they weren't radio silent on international release, I ended up going for the z flip4, whereas I really might have waited if i knew this was coming out so soon
