I'd argue that 1440P@144Hz is the most you need at 17", so if that configuration is available instead, I'd go with that over the 4K120Hz display. That webcam, though, is ATROCIOUS. Bad, MSI, BAD.

Please review scar 17 with same chip. I bet asus monster kill this dragon.

  3. The Blitz

Like for testing the whole brightness range ::)

  4. Warney's World

Underwhelming. Similar framrates to my blade 17 with a mild overclock. Why aren't they panging the GPU at 250w?? That's what a titan should do!!

  5. Tyler Webb

I'd say the real monster here is using a stock windows ISO instead of using one from ghost, so much is left untapped.

Kind of depressing that with all that extra space you only get a 1.3% fps improvement over the GE76 Raider with the same specs. Sure, extra storage space is great, but it's also over $1000 more for 3 fps.

  7. JLB

Powerful but looks absolutely hideous. Looks like my laptop from 2012 only with rbg.

  8. RC

Imagine getting a 17" laptop in 2022 with a 1080p screen. Paying $4K to see pixels.

omg i want it bad LIKE REAL BAD, can you maybe please give me you're review unit please ill never be able to afford something like that 🙁

MSI, good performance but ugly and cheap design and the worst panels ever. It’s like they get second pick from AUO and other panel makers. I’ll stick to my Alienware X17 R2

  11. cylix1

Lol so this they call a "DTR" nowdays…with no socketed CPU or MXM GPU…what a BGA turdbook…

  12. Dan Man

According to Gentech PC, an official dealer for MSI, none of the MSI laptops w hx CPU comes w the phase change thermal pad. I confirmed with them today because I am ordering the titan i7 hx

Don't buy MSI products. You're left all alone when you get a defective product with issues. The company don't stand by their products. I'm stuck with a MSI GE76 top of the line model I bought two months ago from MSI India. Thermal throttles to a 100C and beyond under load and cuts down on performance. The intense battery drain caused a battery wear that is at 6 percent and it is irreversible. MSI India won't do RMA. MSI Taiwan doesn't respond to my email. What a great way to bag $5660USD from customers by cheating and selling a defective laptop. I'm moving to consumer court.

This versus the ASUS Strix SCAR 17 SE will be a legendary battle!

  15. Brawndo

I would never travel with that thing. It's more of a desktop replacement to me. Or maybe travel if it's long term (months, in another country for example). That would not even fit in my carry on.

  16. Jitkundough

For a real comparison, consider that with 128GB of RAM, and all four NVME slots using a 2TB 980 PRO in a RAID 0!

  17. Shynobi

Damn this thing is a beast! Unfortunately I may have to wait until Black Friday to purchase one. Was the previous TitanGT laptop on sale during Black Friday?

  18. Razor Reaper

Please compare it to the previous actual true DTR the GT76 Titan DT with the 9900K and a 2080…. I am sure there is not much difference…. is it a substantial upgrade or it is just incremental…. maybe my GT76 titan is still a beast compared to this

Cost aside there was one impressive thing it matched my 5900x on a one run cinbench although you have connected to the wall , on battery 11,0/0 oof , might aswell get desktop score but if it was 30 min run it would probably been done to the mid teens in cb , might aswell get desktop theres nothing that can replace a desktop especially if you to be changed to wall , the fact that this titan cant even match a desktop 3070 ti is disappointing

No more titan when there's no 4cm thiccness
