In this video, I’ll take a look at two diving icons from OMEGA, the heritage-inspired Seamaster 300 and the more modern Seamaster Diver 300. We’ll use a points system based on some major aspects of these watches in an attempt to objectively pick the better option.

I am conflicted, I think I would end up getting the 300 over the 300 diver. The lack of tapering in the metal bracelet would really annoy me, although I heard it has been like that for a while. I have tried on the 300 diver, it wears quite chunky compared to the 2500 series seamasters and planet oceans.

8900 movement on my Aqua Terra is a pain and I’ve heard it’s a weak part of the movement keen to problems. I’d prefer a quickset date.

good content but, side by side is the way to go…

Having owned both, I agree with everything Teddy said, except the rating on the bezel. I’d say they are essentially the same. The diver 300 has ceramic, but painted numbers. The 300 has aluminum, but lumed numbers. And the feel is the same. The 300 is matte, the diver is shiny. They are different, but either is great. It’s up to preference. In that case, they would be a tie, which I think is appropriate. It’s really up to which you like better.

For me, it’s the 300. Sold the diver 300 to get it.

Loved it! A great diver comparison would be Seiko, Doxa, Omega, Rolex and Blancpain. Is each increase in price an increase in value and is it worth it. Cheers!

It’s the Seamaster 300 Professional vs the Seamaster 300 Heritage. That’s how I tell them apart.

If the Seamaster 300 Heritage ever gets rid of the fauxtina, fully brush the bracelet, and update the lug width to 20mm, then I’d be a buyer.

OUSH! Such a tough comparison! Aesthetically, it has to be the Seamaster Diver 300. But only a pre ceramic 😜

As always a great episode Teddy. I am not a watch collector even though I love watches. I only have the 3861 Hesalite Speedy Moonwatch and absolutely love it. There is also a familial tie with my fathers introduction of me to the Omega brand some 40 years ago and my brothers tie in with NASA and the space program in he 80's. The watch means so much to me. The Seamaster 300 to me is just spectacular in every way and has the vintage feel that reminds me of times spent with my Dad. It will be next watch for sure. The Diver is great but too blingy for me. My third watch will be the Deville Prestige Orbis edition – another spectacular and under the radar watch with a great story that is also very personal to me. To me, not as a collector but as just someone who loves watches, the stories are more important than the specifications. The diver probably has better specifications than the 300 but I would choose the Seamaster 300

Can you help me find out about an Omega Seamaster DeVille watch that I have had for many years? It still runs. Is it of some significant value? Would love some feedback. Mark in Springfield, MO

I love the SMP 300 diver. It was my first luxury piece and checked all the boxes. I'm not a huge fan of the heritage model. It's not really dressy or sporty so it's just kind of in the middle. I would prefer an Aqua Terra and an SMP on rubber strap than the heritage model. I'm sure some love the heritage and that's also cool. Great vid!

Personal preference, I would skip both in favour of the Aqua Terra. 8900 movement, wave style dial, and a much more attractive hand set.

Hi Teddy, Nice video. By the way, can I ask why you are not so keen to do a wrist shot in any of your videos? It will be nice to see what’s on your wrist 😍🙏❤️

  13. Chris Grieves

Nice job Teddy and yes more please! For the smaller-wristed such as you and myself (same wrist size) the 300 is an easy winner. I just can't pull the 300M off. Also the grip on the bezel just doesn't work for me on the 300M, and not a fan of the handset, whereas the broad-arrow looks great. All that said, in terms of value for spec the 300M is just more watch for less cash. So a very interesting side-by-side here. I still prefer my blue BB58 though….

wish it had day like monday tuesday i would buy seamaster if it had that watch this prices should have day and date i onley love watches like that plus its very in right now to have day date watches .

Teddy I went to the AD after watching your video on Breguet. Awestruck since trying those on, especially the traditional line with retrograde date. Nothing else seems nice after that. Unfortunately visited the Omega store to check the new green sea master, but by then I was a Breguet fan

  16. Ashley Cole

I think the diver 300m is a great product for the price and when compared with its competitors. The seamaster 300 although a great product in its own right, I would be hard pushed to justify the price when compared to the competition. (BB58 and Divers 65 spring to mind)

  17. Vishal Kalra

Loved this format, bring on more of this please ! Cheers

  18. Explorerjlc

why is the 300 more expensive than the SMP??? makes no sense. SMP has better tech and materials…

  19. Elton James

I have the 300 pro and visited the omega boutique to try the 300.
Very disappointed.didnt wear well and looked a little devotion of innovation.

  20. dmora

I've been rocking the 300m since 2019. Ideally, next is the GMT master 2, either Batgirl/Pepsi depending which presents itself first. I have half the mind to pick up the green diver 300m, but the Investor in me won't allow for another depreciating asset lol.

  21. LARRY FISHKIND

The 300 is a bit more classy and beautiful to me. But both are Gorgeous
