I would not recommend any Samsung products as their support is none existent and too many of their products set on fire. I had a 49" monitor that 100% would have set on fire if I was not in the room at the time it went faulty. Samsung did not care – DO NOT BUY Samsung Products would be my advice!
Review Galaxy tab s8 ultra ๐๐๐
Still waiting for your take on the Alienware QD OLED! ๐
sad they dont make a ultrawide one. i cant go back to 16:9 after i got mine
Webcam worth $150. Stand worth $100. Regular price is $349. so $349+$150+$100=$599. so $699 is overpriced.
Won't be useful when samsung stops updating their apps….they will do that! Just get Google TV Chromecast and be done with it.
Cant get it – Why would i want a TV monitor? For Netflix? I can do the via Macbook anywayโฆ
Only 1 micro HDMI : LOL ๐
As a small tv, stupid get better cheaper, connected to pc get better cheaper, smart pointless as can do all on pc.
Lol 8 bit panel in 2022 no thanks
I had the best steal, got the 32" M7 monitor as an add on to my s22 ultra for only 16 dollars.
ยฃ700 is crazy money considering how much the M7 was on launch
Aspect ratio is outdated. If they is a very way you can have 2 screen side by side size wize… That would be more useful
Thatโs why you shouldnโt take sponsorship and review products at the same time.
Youโre glancing over micro-freaking-HDMI on a monitor like itโs no big deal?! MicroHDMI on a monitor! Even mirrorless cameras have full HDMI nowadays, unless youโre Canon of course, and this is a whole monitor in 2022.
Also, how can it be truly HDR10+ if your next phrase is that its brightness is just 430nits? You gotta peak at 1000nits for HDR10 and up to 4000-10000 nits for HDR10+, which is not even in a ballpark of this monitor!
And at the end you of course liked itโฆ Like, cmon, man, are you really that short on money to accept and push such nonsense and reck your integrity?
I mean it's $300 cheaper than the Apple stand so it's a Win!!
Ah come on we are in 2022 and u seen one dead pixel ! Come on Samsung
What an ugly piece of plastic. What is this color called? Birdsh*tblue? ๐
Dude you have to check out the new 40 inch version of your current lg 38wn95 monitor.
I'll be waiting on an in depth review. I'm sure it'll come soon. Cheers.
Hey Chaps – tempted to buy an M8?
P.S if you're wondering why some shots of the stand are blurry, it's because I'm an idiot ๐ in some shots I hadn't assembled it correctly, so there was a tiny gap. It was my mistake
That bump bottom right is pretty ugly imo. Wish they made the design more uniform and clean and with a glossy option
LG C2 42โ
Nope, sorry, the money is going towards the "Smart" features of which many I would never use. Not at the sacrifice of image quality and a better panel in general.
You didn't say anything about fps and g-sinc and brightness And picture quality 4k 8k !!!
I have a Samsung QN90A, it has awesome rec709 / filmmaker mode but in pc mode it doesnโt have those color profiles. As a tv and my secondary monitor hung above my 27โ 1440p 144hz benq ex2780q I would always prefer the monitor when am working developing apps or working in Lightroom. Apart from college students and people in dorms I see no use for it as a monitor. Itโs just a small tv without the tv tuner which frankly no one uses this day and age and probably will be removed in a few years like av and component input sent to the grave.
Rather use a 42 inch lg or Samsung tv
A great time to pick up an M7 since it will go down in price now ๐ I think the M7 is 80% of what the M8 is but with a subjectively better design
Can we use this as a dumb monitor with none of the smart features enabled? That would be a feature on it's own.
Well, the inevitable happened… And I had to work from home. After putting it off – because I don't have a separate office space, I bade goodbye to my 40 inch TV in my room, and replaced it with a proper desk and the Samsung M7 Smart Monitor because they sold it as the best of both a TV and a monitor.
Its Samsung display – so even the worst Samsung 4K will beat out majority of players at this price point. Their display technology can't be beat. And so, I was genuinely blown away by how perfect this was to replace my old set up. I now have a great screen to fit 4 windows on the 4K display.
And have a decent display for streaming content! I got the M7 last year and while I wish I had the M8, no doubt when it's due for an upgrade I'll be getting another Smart Monitor!
When is the monitor released. Nothing on Samsungs website.
So for hundreds of dollars extra, your monitor, which is most probably connected to a pc will have software that makes it do what your browser can already do…?
Yeah how is this a unique feature again?
Does the dex mode on this monitor finally output to 4K? Ridiculous that Samsung sells monitors at 4K advertising dex and then limits the output to sub 4K…
Maybe if it was like a 55 or 65 in maybe it would be worth it but being with times are not really this is just our opinion
Itโs cool. I already have the M7 and itโs pretty much the same. Only difference is the webcam and the white + colour aesthetics. I was lucky enuff to pick up the M7 fairly cheap. If this was 43inch I would buy the M8. As the monitor is great.
I wouldโve thought to have a 3.5mm jack to connect some desktop speakers.
the panel a oled or ips ?
Is the camera included with the purchase?
iMac wanna be styling… nah I'll just keep my LG 32" Ergo with it's nice monitor arm built right in and ability to go landscape right out of the box.
What panel technology does it use?
I am on board. Working from home full time, and I donโt have a TV. This fits the bill.
Interesting, but not compelling. Why, . . . well, does it actually bring a lot of new features that are not already available, with a regular 4k 32" monitor? Not so much. Streaming tv is a nice to have, but, there is no regular tv tuner. Including a tv tuner would make it compelling, or at least an option module to include that function. Having said that, nothing is for free, so the price would then be higher, however, adding an stb is not for free, and brings a lot of duplicated electronics, and more irritating, a lot more cabling. Or, is this just an attempt, to strip out access to regular tv transmission? More useful, and maybe already included but not discovered yet, would be the inclusion of reference colour standards. Samsung legacy performance on colourimetry has been very good, so they understand the requirements and the standards. But if so, then why not trumpet that capability? Then it becomes interesting for the pro-sumer photo – video editing category. So, an interesting product, but if you already have a good display monitor, is it compelling, not so much, at least not without more detail information. We don't get to see until May, so early days right now.
I dont want another smart thing that leak my data.
There are better monitors for this price
Samsung Smart Monitor looks freaking amazing! I've reviewed Samsung Monitors and this one looks fantastic!! When your done with it send it my way!!! Lol
Nice video Chap!
Pretty cool monitor.
So being a โsmart monitorโ , does that mean it will take voice commands ? If it does Iโd really like that , I like the idea of a smart monitor (why would anyone bitch over having more features ๐คจ?
Also I like the cool magnetic camera , never seen that before .
One thing that does make me think twice about it is tv/monitors chipset you mentioned having some latency.
To me this might be a deal breaker , I already have a tv which has a slow chipset in it , and once you purchase a tv with a slow chipset , you are stuck with this annoying characteristic for the life of the device.
The speakers sound a bit weak , but not a deal breaker.
The screen quality and brightness levels , i guess you get what you pay for, if Sammy had put in a better panel , i would have preferred that and been prepared to pay more for it , maybe samsung will bring out a higher specced model down the track ???
GRACIAS POR LA INFORMACION DEL TV
Love the idea. And while I understand the M7 picture quality set it back a little, I struggle to understand the price jump from the M7 to the M8, given the features are more or less the same. Or am I missing something?
Nice review, M8 ๐
OMG THANK YOU FOR NOT SAYING ALEXA I HATE IT WITH A PASSION WHEN PEOPLE TRIGGER IT
Smart Monitor pretty cool I like the ikea of the camera just simple to remove.
