PS5 Pro Enhanced!

With the soon-to-be-announced PS5 Pro expected to hit shelves later this year, Insider Gaming has learned of the developer requirements that need to be met to have the ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ label. Internally, this is currently called the ‘Trinity Enhanced’ label, but for the sake of SEO, we’ll be referring to it as ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ moving forward.

The ‘Enhanced’ label first made its introduction into the PlayStation ecosystem following the release of the PlayStation 4 Pro, which meant that the game utilized the Pro console’s improved hardware to offer improved frame rates and resolutions. For the PS5 Pro PlayStation wants games to offer a PS5 Pro-exclusive graphics mode that will combine:

PSSR to upscale resolution to 4K

A constant 60FPS

Add or increase ray tracing effects

According to documents sent to Insider Gaming, this is possible because of faster RAM (28% faster) and a faster GPU that is 67% larger than the standard console (45% faster) – You can read more PS5 Pro specs here. Playstation says these combined make the Pro 45% faster than the standard PlayStation 5 and can provide twice the rendering speed of the standard console.

PlayStation goes on to continue that games may also be given the ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ label if they offer any of the following enhancements:

Increased target resolution for titles that run a fixed resolution on the standard console

Increased target maximum resolution for titles that run at variable resolution on the standard console

Increased target frame rate for titles that target a fixed frame rate on the standard console

Inclusion of PS5 Pro Raytracing effects

For high-demanding games like GTA 6, tech expert and Digital Foundry founder Richard Leadbetter has said that people shouldn’t expect GTA 6 to run at 60FPS on the PS5 Pro. Leadbetter’s analysis is primarily based on the Pro’s CPU, which will be identical to the standard system with a 10% increase in GHz.What do you think of the Playstation 5 Pro’s ‘Enhanced Mode’ requirements? The Most Successful Console Ever / The End of an Era for PlayStation:

In an interview on the Official PlayStation Podcast to mark his retirement, Ryan was asked about his thoughts on PlayStation‘s position in the games market going forward.

“I’d say right now we’re at the top of our game,” he replied. “We’ve been really clear and really consistent about what we stand for great consoles, great console gaming experience, and great games. I would say that right now we’re at the top of our game.

“PlayStation 5 is well on track to be our most successful console ever across multiple vectors and I think the games and the gaming experiences you see on PlayStation 5, lead by PlayStation Studios, are the best that we’ve ever seen.”

Ryan wasn’t clear about what vectors he was referring to. While the PlayStation 5 would have to retain its sales strength for years in order to come close to being the company’s best-selling machine, stats like player retention and engagement could be projected to eclipse the same metrics on the PlayStation 4.

In the company’s financial results for the three months ended December 31, 2023, Sony gaming division reported another record quarter in terms of revenue, with PS5 sales reaching 54.7m, but lowered its sales forecast for the year after it fell behind in its lofty hardware target.

Hi Jimmy. Sometimes I wish there was a difficulty level for over 70 year old gamers. As a 76 year old I find some games that require the pressing of several buttons either simultaneously or sequentially. The older we get the less agile our fingers become. Thanks for your regular updates and information.

  2. Ps5 slim has the same hardware that the Ps5 pro will have and games run smooth on the slim

  3. @donnelmoss757

Man who are you getting your news from, rise of Ronin hasn't had any issues the whole time I've been playing it and dragons dogma is the one that can't hold a steady frame rate with all type of issues 🤦🏾‍♂️

  4. @Konzen08

Honestly I'm thinking to buy Hi end pc because of playstation not giving us 60 fps in rebirth/dd2

  5. @SomeCanine

I don't see the point at shelling out hundreds of dollars on a new console when all the games coming out are woke buggy sequel garbage. I think I would rather buy a Switch at this point because at least they have games that don't annoy you. If you can sift through the games made exclusively for children and find some adult friendly games, you'd have a better time.

  6. @skatemobster

I thought i was gonna like dragons dogma 2 more than rise of the ronin but its the total opposite. I love rise of the ronin and frickin hate dragons dogma 2. Dd2 looks so bad. I can't believe how bad it looks on ps5. I was so disappointed.

I have to admit that if I like a game on xbox gamepass and it's cross platform I'll probably get a physical copy on playstation, gone are the days of the ps3/xbox360 where games apparently played better on xbox lol though the 360 is the only one I don't have yet

Real talk Spiderman 2 and God of War Ragnarok are my least favorite ps5 games that I own. Gameplay wise their great for the most part (Atreus and MJ) but for Spiderman the story was trash and playing as Atreus sucks. Honestly those are the two games I actually don't play once I beat them, Valhalla was good for GOW though. Any PS needs to get there stuff together and get these weird elements out of the games. As for remasters it should really only be games ppl have been asking for, the greek GOW collection, Bloodborne, Infamous etc not any of the new stuff that was ps4 generation.

Rise of the Ronin has ran flawlessly for me and I've not seen one person complaining about it except you. I'm almost level 20, more than 75% of the way through 19 and zero issues thus far. My friend is further along than myself and he hasn't had any issues either. Dragons Dogma 2 has had a few blips while playing it and graphicly it's subpar at best.

  10. I still prefer my PS4 Pro over my PS5 for many games. But the drive speed difference makes my PS5 essential. Why didn't the PS4 Pro have SATA 3… That would have really made it great. SATA 2 was old when even the 1st PS4 was released.

  11. @Kirkn

Looking forward to the Dualsense V2 controller when ever that gets confirmed by Sony.

  12. @noelsilva8887

I can’t wait for the ps5 pro. Once the pre-order go live I be at GameStop pre-ordering it. 😅😂

  13. I haven't been that impressed with Rebirth, but I absolutely adore Remake.
    Remake = 9.8 Rebirth = 8.0

  14. @crazzylee

Sony made me feel like I paid for a family to enter a amusement park that’s like a casino. Very formal before you see any games. I like quest 3 UI better.

  15. @Acid_Ash

I wish it took them the same length of time to update the PlayStation then it did the Switch. I just got a ps5 a year ago…

  16. @ward2471

Sony is right … yes please I do want this

  17. @infomutt2339

Sony ps5 is Soo overrated and still isn't worth the price… and NOT WORTH THE MONEY 💰
