Oh wow this is quite nice.
Really tempting me to pull me Launch Day xbox that's been needing replacement parts for over a decade out and getting it running. If replacing the Xecuter chip that's in it is as easy is unplugging it and plugging Stellar in (I assumed there was soldering outside of my limited skills required) this really will make it worth buying a replacement power supply and tossing a new hard drive in there. If Stellar OS allows me to set up the hard drive without running software off a burnt disc I wont need to replace the dead DVD drive.

    Tempting tempting….

I must say, as a Stellar user, this video is not a good guide for someone who wants to mod his XBOX for the first time. In the software side, MakeMHz left you alone ans this video doesn't makes better. I had to browse for several forums and YouTube videos to finally install the dashboard, homebrews and get the system running the games from the HDD/SSD

  3. Concreteowl

Looks very expensive and complicated compared to a soft mod.

  4. applesandgr8pes

Been following this project for a long time; I can't wait to see where this will be in a year

  5. HaloGrunt15

I hope that one day a mod chip that requires no soldering or modification to the board becomes a reality. Like something you can just plug in to an existing port or something. Id love to mod my og 1.0 xbox but i dont trust my soldering ability

  6. magfal

One function I'd love to see is ram with backup to a microSD to replace the swap partition to allow for the use of an SSD without potential for wear out

  7. Nice looking bit of kit, and great to see the XBOX modscene is still alive and well!

  8. Judging this purely on what it can do now, this is already looking promising. I'd suggest a roadmap of what is still in development be made available and kept updated. You should never buy/rely on tech based on what it will do or promises but direct in-detail commitments, deliberate communication of timelines & setting expectations can assuage this a good deal. This could make OG Xbox mods, like mine, look absolutely ancient if they come through. ❤

Yoooo I’ve been waiting for this video.
Thank you for what you do.

  10. RDJ 134

Great video, one i was waiting for 🙂
I wonder does this break the HDD Limit like with the CERBios?? Exciting times!!!

  11. GiSWiG

I got mine last month but I preordered it in October. I can't wait to use my 20th Anniversary XBOX controllers on my system. There support is great on discord. I attempted the install on my own, took pics with a microscope. Although they judged my so-so solder job, they saw I was one leg off. I fixed my mistake, and everything is working perfectly.

  12. Syiboi Iobiys

This is the Xbox mod chip I've been waiting for! Is a tad pricey but the features are exciting!

  13. Dio Brando

what's that shooter game near the end of the video?

  14. Mister Chip

it would be really helpful if you did this but using a stock Xbox it’s assuming a lot that we’re already coming with a modded Xbox. Thanks as always for the great content.

  15. Axel Kusanagi

I want to make the Xbox Slim mod, where the console is reduced to the bare minimum, including using the little pigtail adapters as controller ports and removing the disc drive.

  16. Nikeymikey100

Lots of the new "Exclusive" features are not yet available, please take that into account. Also Stellar does not support ANY Cerbios formatted drives or CCI (Cerbios Compressed Images). Also the creator is known to be a bit of an asshat with a bad attitude.

  17. Scott Tait

Never a fan of "sponsored"content as sadly always comes accross as an advert , but kudos for doing this one and putting it out there

  18. Nickolas

I would be very interested in the hard drive feature also keep up the good work Tito you deserve all the views

  19. LumbyMcGumby

I want this I'm tired of having a dead DVD drive in my Xbox just because it needs it to boot up. Just sitting there wasting space haha

  20. re4mat

Great video! Definitely gonna pick one of these up. Glad to hear, too, that they sell an upgrade kit, as I still have a legacy XboxHD+.

One tip, if I may: you had a lot of close-up shots of components from the kit being held in your hand, which were visibly shakey. (Everyone’s hands shake; nothing weird about that!) If you want to make that less apparent, you can film at double the frame rate and then play it back in the video at the video’s normal frame rate, making it a slow motion shot. It’ll smooth out the shakes and make the footage look smooth as glass.

Don’t get me wrong: I don’t mean to say the video looked bad! I’ve always been impressed by the quality of your videos. Just thought I’d pass along the tip. 🙂

Thanks again for another banger of a video!

As someone who came into the scene at the same time the Xbox was getting modchips and softmods, I tend to take my software knowledge of it for granted. Hearing you say that the software side was a bit cumbersome and sometimes confusing but not the actual hardware modding made me chuckle because Im the exact opposite. I have no problem with bios, dashboards, hard drive upgrades, etc but the thought of soldering is just something I dont have any skills in. Tried to do a Wii modchip back in the day and ended up paying a friend. Love all the videos! Anything original Xbox on this channel is an instant watch.

Also, for those who see this and get this chip. Give insignia a try! Its a fantastic service that will only get better with more members! Amazing to see the setup utility included.

  22. Le Docteur

That one feature that allows you to setup a hard drive straight from the bios is a life saver

  23. ボロ EU

I still want to add in ram for the arcade light gun games but i steuggle to find anyone able to do the mod

  24. billyhatcher643

you encouraged me to mod my original gba console with the aluminum shell and i did really well with the mod and im very happy i found your channel

  25. Craig B

I've got a Xecuter 3 chip in my Xbox, sounds like I need an upgrade.

  26. Victor Cesne

Always the same thing with Makemhz products. They are not finished. XboxHD was a mess at the beginning. I prefer a lot citrus3000psi products. Awsome video as usual!!

  27. Codydragonrude

The coolest thing i noticed is the UDMA speed option for hard drive this is actually the only advantage cerbios had to evox and ind bios so they essentially have made cerbios useless which is good cause that bios is pretty sketchy

  28. Martin McNeal

I would recommend you do another console mod.
Maybe install a SNES mini (or SNES Jr) RGB chip mod?
That way the revision of the system has the same video quality as the original SNES
