Tools For Modding Retro Video Game Consoles
A lot of people have asked what tools I use in my videos, so I decided to make a video covering most of the tools and products I use for modding retro video game consoles. Just a reminder, these are the tools I personally use and are by no means needed to do the mods I do on the channel. There are plenty of other great tools and products out there that can accomplish the same thing.

I have the Hakko 980 fx (I think that is what it is called) it’s really great and seems to have similar features to yours.
Hi Tito 🙂 . These bears are amazing 😍 your mum is awesome! 😊 Your videos are very nice. Love watching them 🙂 . Tools which i use are:
Flux, solder wick and solder with lead
Noname solder station with manual temperature control
Mechanic solder sucking pen
Mechanical tools (like cutters, pliers, tweezers, needle files..)
Screwdriver set from ProsKit
Multimeter (cheap one, but it work)
I think thats all :). My tools are basics, but for me works great :). Have a nice day and happy holidays 🙂
My ifixit toolkit is essential
My favorite tool for modding is my LTT screwdriver. It makes opening things up so easy! I recommend you try one.
Definitely my cheap solder
That IPA Dispenser would be very handy in my shop.
By far the tool that i use the most is the sodering iron. Keep up with the great videos
Kobalt wire strippers and side cutters
Was gona say it's odd that I use almost all the stuff you do but it's not odd because when you've been modding for so long you get to know what's good and what's not.
Lovely stuff
ive always been a big fan of my KESGER T12. Its been an absolute workhorse and hasnt had any problem with anything i throw at it. Definitely my go-to.
One of the things i use when im soldering. Is a Head Mounted Magnifier Glasses. Those components get pretty small. Its good to see what the hell your doing.
The ifixit screwdriver bit set is definitely a must.
The tool I use most is a soldering iron and solder sucker
I use t12 too. Very good quality!
OMG, Tito! You're the best Nacho! Love the new channel – that was an epic production. Love the teddy bears your mom made. 🌮(since I couldn't find a Nacho, it gets its beautiful cousin, the taco)
Parkside (Lidl brand) tools mostly.
Definitely, use the soldering iron
I always use a TS100 Soldering Iron from Cross Mars and I love it!
Biggest thing I probable use is my Atlas ESR70 Gold ESR tester for caps. Upgraded to the newer version recently & it helps spot those bad caps & test them before use.
I Use my woowstick a Lot. But i've been thinking of change it for the Ifixit kit.
The tool I use most would be a heat gun for heat shrink on wire repairs! Great videos, always fun!
I use a KSGER T12, which was a recommendation from Voultar at the time. It has been good, but I think the godsend for me was getting my Hakko 301 desoldering gun. I ended up getting a few different nozzle sizes just to get the different pin sizes down to work on different boards and such.
I really like my IFIXIT tool kit. Works great for traveling
that i fixit tool kit is a god send started buying tools for when i start modding my retro collection an to fix some of my dead consoles definitely added the tools from this vid to my tool wishlist an awesome videos btw
The tool I use the most for modding..? My pseudo Saturn cart. Yes it doesn't require any soldering or really advanced stuff but it gets the job done. Play imports and burned discs
I've started making a list of what I need for modded so this video came at a perfect time! The only tool I have at the moment is a multibit screwdriver set so that gets the most use from me
The tool I use, even isnt a mod, is an old tooth brush for clean everything with IPA.
My screwdriver and bit set get the most use. Can't solder without first opening the consoles up!
