Every 6 months, Microsoft release a feature update, the latest offering is
Windows 10 version 20H2, its also known as October 2020 Update. This release will be on October some time. If you are in the Windows Insider Program, you can get a early release and become a tester for Windows 10 operating systems. So do you need to update right away? NO. People say you will be at risk, but as long as your Windows 10 version is still in life cycle, you will receive Windows 10 security updates, the only difference is features.

Will 'bag' registry is going to break overtime again? Seems a bit better with the last update. 'Bag' aka. icons positioning database.

    I have version 2004, (build 19041.508). No issues here…

It seems to make more sense to wait 120 days after the feature update is publicly available to update to it, to let them fix the launch bugs. Then ideally update to the September feature update, and remain on that for almost 2 years before updating to that years September feature update. As the September feature updates get 12 additional months of service versus the March feature updates.

I also can't stand doing feature updates every 6-8 months, even with a fast quad core CPU and an SSD it takes time. Just imagine if someone is on a PC with a little Core i3 and a regular spinning disk HDD? Good luck.

Microsoft should allow users to select a March or September feature update channel to be on in the Win Update settings. The March feature always seems like a beta release to consumers.

Running 1903 so I will have to go to 2004 this week! I hate update problems . Maybe just to 1909 for now, don't know if 2004 will cause problems. Any suggestions would be great. Running Pro.

I keep my copy of Windows 10 updated from time to time. No issues with that for the past 5 years.

  8. 1697djh

I use Windows10 AME version, no spyware or bloatware, no need to update

I run linux personally because I've had it with Microsoft's crap. There is nothing I can't do in Linux that I could do in Windows. But on the Windows PC's in the family I've blocked updates using a PiHole to DNS sinkhole the Microsoft domains responsible for updates / telemetry. This way I can choose to update when I want not when Microsoft forces me to do so. I back this up with strong anti-virus and firewall software (Windows is a joke when it comes to security otherwise anyway) and that is the solution to the Microsoft Nightmare until they give us back control over the update process.

Seriously ? 4 MINUTES pointless meandering about off-topic stuff before the actual content ? You know – what the video title says – the reason why i clicked it in the first place, only continued watching to see just how much time would be wasted in total … won't be watching this channel most likely, too much talk devoid of content. PS: Windows 7 forever

Thank you this is very informative I’ve been struggling with my laptop I even bought a new windows 10 which has made no difference I just keep getting a message that my updates will no longer be getting any updates as there’s no support for my version, the old windows 10 I already had on my netbook said the exact same thing and the new one I bought last week is extremely stressful trying to figure out why it’s not updating, thank you so much for the information you sound like you know what your doing so I’ve subscribed to your channel, have a great week

Well Brian – This is why I quit windows all together on windows 10 – I'll still use windows 8.1 – but ever since windows 10 came out / it has been nothing but
a disaster where I get it sable enough then they have to go and mess it up again – So! Linux is my main driver on a windows type hard ware Laptop. I don't have to worry
for updates – Linux respects its users and doesn't change the parameters while I'm using it – where I always had to worry about Microsoft. Linux just works – and when I decide to dabble in updates then that's my domain not Microsoft – I'm in control.
Any how Good video as always keep up the fantastic job in diagnostics / you are a real credit to love all those you help AWESOME Job!!!

Don't want edge, hate the 'start' menu, don't want or need a microsoft account they don't need to know who is logging in or when or where. Microsoft has lost it. Windows 8 is where they fell off the cliff and 10 isn't that much better as they wanted to keep so much of that nonsense. Won't update until I absolutely have to and I know it isn't buggy. I'm pretty keen on switching.

  14. Rich Plewa

Why can't Microsoft get it eight They have more Bugs then a Bait shop. fixes and more fixes, updates and more updates. Microsoft need to do more testing and retesting and more testing be fore they release more bugs.

  15. Goosekhan Gaming

Stop forcing these updates on me! I don't want your unsafe garbage updates. They keep making my computer slower, less stable and create problems. I feel bullied when they force these updates on me. WE SHOULD HAVE A CHOICE FOR WHAT WE DO TO OUR COMPUTERS! I am sick of fixing the bugs for these bully updates.

  16. bison345

I'm still on 1909 Brian, never update to latest straight away, got a while yet before go to 2004, but may do it now. Thans, Don

  17. When we updated to version 2004 back in may we noticed that the pc crashes and had to restart. Is the H2 going to do the same thing

Seems KB4565633 & KB4566116 are pretty bugged. Right after they forced the install of both updates ()and i mean really forced, as it ignored 7 day wait period, and the more advanced select date option of which I picked about a month ahead), my CPU usage went from %5 idle to an insane %50-85 idle randomly. It also makes games unplayable, stuttering every second, CPU usage always through the roof, and even after I uninstalled both of them multiple times, and even used third party software to stop the updates after what they pulled and I'm about to explain, the updates kept installing themselves! I even turned off the services tied to windows update, and it still updated! I also used a program that works at boot time, and shut down cycles, to stop this from happening and it STILL updated back to those awful updates! I have never once since I've used this horrid OS, have Windows be this aggressive. I am not sure why Microsoft wants this on everybody's computers so badly, but I now have to wipe my Drive and Re-install clean because there should be absolutely no reason why it is causing such CPU usage, let alone random %100 disk usage every few minutes. I even used de-bloater scripts to maybe help fix the issue but no luck. I even stopped many startup items, still no luck. I did everything I could think of that usually works, but no luck. The new updates (least for me) are a disaster and I can't get this to stop. I have no choice now but to wipe and start over as no other option works. Anybody else having this problem?

  19. PhillySoHostile

Version 2004 broke my whole OS I had to reformat and downgrade until they fixed most bugs in 2004. It was crazy.

  20. dan smith

When will. Microsoft will release something to replace the flash player?

  21. Hokeyzc

Will Windows October update delete my folders? (Programs, photo, and etc.) , I still didn't updated it, I mean I don't want to see my filles been deleted by this update.

  22. Pumpkin Pie

Anybody know how to disable this 20H2 update ? Please, I want to keep my 1909. THIS DAMN BLUE POP UP KEEPS APPEARING " It's time to update to version 20H2 ". I can't even shut down or restart my laptop tonight bc it will UPDATE 😫
