i am living in the bay area….$3500 is way too over. I don’t think this product is for normal user… I don’t feel like it is necessary to have the vision pro. It is more for rich people’s toy

Ben, can u tell us if the new MA is heavier than the original or same weight? Ive been waiting on it to upgrade, but weight and portability is everything to me.

Here for the 15 air and disappointed, why? I have the base M1 Air (love it, even edits 4k like butter) and its 30% faster than the base M2. This is because the M1 has 2x 128 nand flash and M2 has a single 256. Parallel is much faster. So, I'm disappointed we have the same slower 256 config on the base M2 Air. To compensate (literally) I'd have to shell out $200 more for 512 ie 2×256 parallel nand flash mem. I'd rather just have a base M2 with 2×128 and be 30% faster. Btw Ben, how can I get my hands on a Vivo X90 Prp+ (only in China still or any Intnl version coming?) Cheers, STL

Ben, I am similar when I go to events…but then I realize that I AM as good or even better in my own way, that's why I am also at the same event.
Sometimes the situation serves you and you blow up and get recognised, other times that doesn't happen or happens really late in the game….but hey, you're still IN the game
    Keep it up
(Advice: keep close to those guys… very handy and companies like that. Most of them are really nice)

This is Apple's best Vision Pro ever!

50% of Americans have less than $500 in savings…. That data is from Prudential as of December 2022. You have a wildly inflated sense of the average Americans quality of life, consumer spending habits. You are specifically talking about a niche group of wealthy professional Americans, and the companies they work for. Concentrated centers of private capital, not normal people.

  8. Michael Corcoran

Ben clearly only hangs out with wealthy Americans because the vast majority of Americans do not have that kind of money to spend on rent or anything else. The United States has disproportionately high poverty rates, food insecurity, homelessness etc.. compared to most other OECD nations.

Average family of United States is $68 k. But you got to count for 12K and out of pocket healthcare expenses — not an issue in any other OECD nation .

There's just a lot of inequality so those numbers are actually much higher than most Americans can afford to live. Medical debt is the leading cause of bankruptcy. No

Don't get me wrong, United States accounts for an absurd amount of consumption. But the average American is paycheck to paycheck, working a gig job or a service sector gig, often with no vacation time whatsoever….

36 percent of kids in the country requires free lunches at school because they make less than 128 percent of the federal poverty level IE about 16K a year.

Why didn't they add the speaker grills to the side of the keyboards? It looks so empty and cheap. Why didn't they add the 120hz screen? They really dropped the ball on this. It feels so rushed because they need to get rid of the M2 chips so that M3 in the fall can be introduced. Just wait for the M3 in the fall release.

For a moment, you felt like a fan mentioning MKBHD, MrWhoseTheBoss 🤭

On the flip side, Dave recongises you! I believe more YouTubers and viewers should!

  11. YOUSHARE

    I’m SO HYPED SOOOOO HYPED!
This can change everything dude I’m all in.
If IRL, it looks 80% as good as what they showed in the demos then this will replace all smartphones in 5 years for people that can afford it.
Ive already been waiting for mixed AR/VR for years…. I can’t stand smartphones 😂

Did he just say 3500 isn't alot of $$$ LMAO. I live in NY, I actually own multiple homes in NY and no I don't agree that for most people $3,500 isn't alot of money for an augmented reality headset. That's then part this joker doesn't say, maybe it's not alot for a mortgage payment but that's a mortgage payment, you pay that to live in shelter for 30 days, you are comparing that to a headset that may or may not be marginally more advanced than options 1/5th the cost. I think this guy got a little spoiled living aloft a hill on his besties dime, or rather her parents dime. What a joke.

  13. CLARIFICATION: in the video at the 1:50 mark I said the $3500 price was “reasonable” and that “things in US are expensive and Americans just used to paying high prices”.

While I still believe that, I admit I didn’t phrase it as eloquently as I should and I may have come off insensitive.

So to clarify: I am not trying to say $3500 is nothing, or that it’s cheap. Nor am I saying most Americans should or will buy it. I am instead saying that $3500 isn’t an outrageously high amount, and in wealthy/privileged countries with high spending consumers, there will be people who can and will pay it. I live in wealthy major cities like Los Angeles and Hong Kong all my life, and so I see plenty of people walk around with $4000 Chanel purses or pay $3500 rent. I have friends who buys $700 shoes. For them they are not going to blink at spending $3500 for a cutting edge Apple product.

And the examples I gave of US prices being high are valid. Any hotel that doesn’t look terrible in San Francisco or New York City is going to cost $250-$350 a night now. So anyone who ever takes a 4 day trip to these cities they’re already spending like $2000-$3000 on just hotel and food.

$100 is barely enough for a nice dinner for two in any major US city. So anyone who ever takes a date out is gonna spend $100-200 that night. So going by these prices, I just don’t think $3500 for a bleeding edge product that needed tens of millions of R&D is outrageous. It’s not cheap but it’s not crazy either. What’s crazy to me is it costs $150 to take an Uber from JFK airport to Brooklyn. And US public transport sucks enough that most Americans pay that normally. What’s crazy to me is two soda and two popcorn at US movie theaters could cost $40. Those are things that are arbitrarily marked up. There’s no innovation. There’s no development. It’s not breaking new ground. It’s just pricey for sake of pricey.

Any more updates on the brand new CarPlay that Apple announced around the same time last year?

  15. Darrell Gilmore

Which phone would you recommend as a good mid-tier phone as a backup that has great battery life and good camera and big screen

  16. Noblemoon

I was actually hoping they'll release a new ipad mini.. 🥲 Hey Ben any news on Blackshark 6 release? 😅

  17. Bailey Stark

Bruh if your paying $400 for a hotel room you must be in a ritzy part of town. The average hotel room price in America is $125. Although everything is rising thanks to good old liberal politics and spending.

  18. bigmaxcc

Hell no Apple VR $3500 😭😭😂😂 it’s over priced

  19. Chris Cantrell

Still doing excellent honest reviews, that's why they recognise you Ben. Deserved success!

  20. Eddie Rubio

Best to wait at least until second generation headset.

  21. rotimi kayode

Reasonable that’s peoples rent I work in California for one of this big tech companies but this is the same cost as a house payment or someone’s rent an a half reasonable maybe for enthusiasts but not the average consumer

  22. Eli

Being shy is ok..never ever feel inferior. After all, they're all just YouTubers who started with one camera phone from their bedrooms.

If they are stuck up, you don't want to know them.

Except for a few I admire still, most of them are old too watch. Tired of the intro, minimal "studio" and voicing opinions as if they are true experts.

There are very few experts in anything, and 99% of YouTubers opinions are nothing special.

Keep up the good work, and while you will evolve into better productions, don't lose the scrappy style and own it.

And never ever fall in line!

  23. saintNsinner

I enjoy Dave’s channel the same way I enjoy yours Ben. You will get there one day!

  24. Frederik Vilhelm

Nice video Ben! Excited for you to try it on tomorrow! Looking forward to an update! Keep it up! 🙂

  25. Freak80MC

The thing about prices in the US is that it varies, A LOT. I live in a small town and so the costs of living aren't that high, so 3,500 is a TON here. Vs someone living in a big city.

  26. MrSparc

I'm divided between pull the trigger to this MBA 15" or MBP M1 16" both 16Gb 512Gb for almost same price… I don't know what to do…

  27. Dj

Hey Ben, if you try it tomorrow, what I would be interested in, with the headset, is it possible to use it as a multi monitor setup with my macbook pro? And how is the latency? Also can I use it with cable as multi monitor setup on the road with better latency, than with a wireless connection? Because they showed it for like 5 seconds and maybe you can find out..?! Thanks and keep up the good work.

  28. NihilusofTrayus

$3500 is a dumb ass price for anything Apple sells and half of that isn't the average price of rent in America either unless you're paying a mortgage. That used to be the average price of a down payment on a car until the recent 27% increase, cause you know; recession.

  29. olternaut

I was waiting on videos of people trying them on. Okay so tomorrow? I'll look for your first impressions then.

  30. Rame Nitsuga

"$3500 is reasonable. You're just poor. Or living in a third world country."

  31. John Smith

your statement is ridiculous, even is USA is expensive, apple push all the limits for this device to destroy the competition, that's why the high price, later in years they will down the price for the masses.

  32. Jim a

One of the best reviewers out there, keep up the great work,

  33. V8 Brah

Does the headset run MacOS or iOS? Big difference!

  34. Charbax

Are you guys not a little bit pissed having just watched the keynote just on a big screen (we probably had a better audiovisual experience watching it at home 😁) and you not even being able to try the device? 😎
I never spend more than $20 on an Uber ride and $50 per night in an Airbnb, my car bought second hand cost less than $3K. For about 99% of the world population, $3500 to spend on a piece of gadget is a lot. But, if Apple can only make a few thousand of these by early next year, I bet those will resell for even way more than that. It's all about supply and demand.

  35. -Mr Xelium-

This is incredible. Very lucky being able to try it on.
However, 3.5 k is very expensive for the vast majority of people.
Also, the "pro" is dumb. It's the first. Doesn't need a pro in the name.

  36. Fred R.

No need to be shy. You are a big Youtuber in the East Tech league

  37. Guardian

3499 is not a normal price for the average consumer in north america, Europe or anywhere.

This is aimed at a niche group of professionals and power users hence why the stock dropped as soon as it was announced

  38. King Solomon1010

$3,500 is expensive no matter what country you live in. The average rent is the US is $1,700. People just don’t spend $3,500. That was the worst take I have ever heard.

  39. Ethereal Royalty

Bro wtf were you talking about American prices your dead wrong $3500 is way to expensive for most Americans we complain about our rent all the time 4 years ago I was paying 800 for 1bd room house now it’s 12-1600 that’s not good or acceptable that whole segment was garbage your smoking meth.
