Xbox Series X Review Long Term Review | Two Years Later…

The Xbox Series X is still my favourite home console as we hit 2023 and this long term review runs through the games situation, and compares it vs the Sony PS5. While the Xbox Series X isn’t a portable wonder like the Steam Deck, I still think it’s the best choice against the PS5. Game Pass, the excellent software support and other features make it an excellent choice, and you can actually buy it in 2023 too!

Microsoft has made sure that plenty of games now support the full potential of the Xbox Series X, from the 120Hz action to the Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos capabilities. As long as you have a telly and sound system to keep up with it, this console can pump out some seriously impressive graphics and audio.

Game Pass remains one of the most compelling reasons to buy yourself an Xbox Series X two years post-launch however. Those day one releases are coming thick and fast and the catalogue is as diverse and addictive as ever. I seriously haven’t bought a fresh game in months, because there’s too much to play here!

So have you been enjoying the Series X as much as me? Let me know below!

Had a ps5 from launch then got an X for gamepass. Haven't touched my ps5 since, will be keeping it for any exclusives I fancy playing. Series X is much quieter.

  2. Steve Nomad

haha man i really love the things you're saying about violent things in faces hahahaha i can relate!

  3. John Luttrell

I like the Series X the only downside is that the media player isn't great I often notice audio lag on DVD and BR playback which is pretty annoying.

  4. J D

Last year bought one for the first time and I have to say I became a fan. Only complaint is it doesn’t have as much exclusives but eh 🤷‍♂️
I mostly use it digitally and disc for my dvds.

What a useless channel,, Guys and Gals there are so many better channels for information than this. This is all just regurgitated garbage from the extremely dense minded. Nothing interesting or compelling here folks…

  6. Patrizio Pastore

What you think about the elite controller and other device around xbox? I think microsoft did an amazing job with this gen… just wait few more exclusive 😛

  7. Jack Booth

I'd still stick with ps5. I just think the exclusives are better.

  8. Rob Sky

Ah man that spectrum bit brought back good memories, manic miner although favourite was way of the exploding fist, top notch game but I digress

  9. Some Guy

Series X is legit! It's so silent and games load super fast. I don't mind the aesthetics because I can tell they went full on function over looks.

  10. Crawbe

The series x is the best console I ever had.

  11. BluFac3Bill

After using both consoles, I do like the Xbox a little bit better

Complete waste of money when you can do all of this on a cheap gaming pc. Everyone keeps saying gamepass is great but if you only want to play a handful of games it's pointless. Do you really want to spend £500 to play indie games?.

Single best purchase ever, thank God for ultimate game pass & Xbox series X 🏆🎄🥇

  14. K Dash

    I'm definitely buying this next

  15. Sohil R

I think PS 5 is a better option than Xbox

Great review 👍 happy Christmas to you and your family tech and thanks for the great show s all year 🎄👍

  17. I woke up early one last summer and saw my local Target had 4 available – online purchase and pickup only. Immediate buy and had to wait all day to go get it.

I'm still primarily playing Red Dead 2 and Madden. I only notice faster loading and a slightly better controller. Quick Resume is THE BEST THING EVER. This is where Xbox spanks PS5. I did trade my One X for the 1TB memory.

I bought a Series last last month and it went into the spare bedroom on my old 1080 TV. I played on it a bit and yeah if I had no Xbox and the $199 I paid I would get it again.

But the usable storage on the S is a joke and they should be ashamed.

Brillant console, love gamepass. Just need those new Exclusives. Bring on starfield!

  19. Troy Dyall

loved my zx spectrum (with built in tape deck) as a kid.

  20. Tyler Turner

Got Xbox series X yesterday. It’s brilliant Actually prefer it to my ps5!

  21. marksapollo

Still rocking my Series X since launch, hadn’t skipped a beat, and I’ve bought way fewer games thanks to Game Pass, amazing value, so much better then PS5.

  22. Michael Boys

I have seen a lot of youtubers make this mistake. And you have done this same. When it comes to playing games in 120fps you need a compatible telly. You can’t just fire it up and you have 120fps. Not that simple.

  23. ThereIsNoCat

External drive is where it's at. I have a 4tb and it's been excellent.

  24. bravesfan293147

Bruh! You're too funny! I love your reviews on phones and just your overall command of your channel! Awesome! Cheers!

  25. TerryTwoToes

The ui is boring compared to ps5 even the ps3 ui is better than xbox

  26. The Bearded One

Cheers Spurt, good timing as I'm weighing up between this and a ps5… Useful video!

  27. p s

It can hardly play 4k games

  28. Confused Hop

Just switched from PS4 to the Series S, kinda miss the single-player exclusives that I didn't get a chance to play. But.. oh man did I upgrade. The Series S cost me just a bit more than my used PS4 back in the day and that GamePass along with the snappy load times just makes such a difference. Not to mention the number of friends on PC I can now play with because of the extended cross-platform support. The Series X and PS5 is definitely a powerhouse, but I would say get the Series S, because it's a solid bang for the buck.
