Samsung s9 had variable aperture like xiaomi13u, only 2 positions, open and close. It's pretty old and simple, specially if compared to Huawei solution.

As someone who uses the back camera for selfies I couldn’t care less about a bad selfie camera :))))
No selfie camera comes close to the back camera on any phone regardless of how good it is.
Samsung’s biggest weakness is the 7-9x zoom range where it just can’t compete with the others
So my 5-year-old Mate 20 x actually has a dedicated aperture setting and it ranges from F1.2 to F16.
I'm sure there's nothing mechanical going on. But after watching this video I tried it, for the very first time, and it does work!
But
I am now enjoying my S23 Ultra and though sometimes I struggle with point and shoot pictures being in focus. When they hit they are fantastic. And I love the far reaching zoom capabilities of this phone. I think it shoots really good video and the editing tools on board really are amazing!

bro super steady mode on samsung is legit better the the action mode on iphone
samsung overall much better package than the other two, it won the most categories compared to the other two and even the once it lost by a margin like video or main cam, it was rlly rlly neck and neck with the winners , so samsung still overall the best camera of 2023 , iphone 15 might change that soon but the s24 ultra and the xiaomi 14 ultra will destroy it again so yea

For me the s23u is the best phone ever. The fact that it has a pro video mode in the camera app, makes it the best phone for videos. You cant change your video settings or use manual focus on the iphone.
