Fun trivial thing to know: after the real notre dame partially burned down a couple of years back, they used the 3d model from assassins unity to help restore the cathedral.
For the non-French here, Ubisoft actually helped Paris' teams with rebuilding Notre-Dame after the fire destroyed a good part of it in 2019. Although their model of the building was not realistic enough to help, they said so themselves, they gave $500k to the construction companies and free access to Unity for a week so people could enjoy a bit of Notre-Dame in the virtual space. Useless free trivia ^^
Tony hawk pro skater 4 introduced me to the San Francisco seals before Watchdogs did
Out of curiosity, did Ghost of Tsushima successfully recreate 13th century Tsushima to a good enough degree?
2:54 Fun fact the northern dame had burned down a couple years ago they use this game to remodel it
Falcon : …to which I will NOT be calling "Hell A".
Me : except you just did…
Venice looks real and I understand it’s a zombie game, but it’s the people that really make that place unique.
From which game does the thumbnail come from?
I mean, Wasnt Horizon Zero Dawn in Denver?
Don't know how accurate it is cause I've never actually seen it, but it surprised that one of the beaches in GTAV look a lot like the beach area in Tony Hawk AW
FINALLY some love for Ghostwire. Having been to Tokyo more times than visiting my own hometown (literally), the area around Shibuya is indeed a 1:1 representation. I went to Tokyo just after finishing the game, and walking the same way I did in real life vs the game, it is absolutely spot on, even in measurement. The street furniture, general signage, and down to the convenience stores are all very well done. There are also lots of cultural references that any western gamer can learn just be playing the game and exploring its open world.
As someone who's spent years photographing central London, I have to say that AC Syndicate is pretty damn good. They even repositions some of the monuments back where they should be and remodelled the royal parks back as they were. The Southwark and Lambeth areas south of the river are spot on for the time.
I am surprised that ghosts of tsushima representation of Japan is not mention on this list.
Project Gotham Racing may be mentioned. Each title of the serie presented races taking place in real cities. It was amusing to drive in the streets of Quebec city
As a Londoner, I took great delight in exploring well known landmarks / loved that game
I get the feeling Ubisoft likes open-world games
flight simulator as number 1 is a total cheat for this list, ah i am disappointed
Test drive unlimited, especially the first one did a really, really impressive job recreating basically all of the islands road network. Also American Truck sim as far as interstates are concerned.
