Apple Vision Pro review: Beta testing the future

The Vision Pro is an ambitious first step into the world of spatial computing, with the best displays and AR integration we’ve ever seen. But it’s also clearly a beta product aimed at developers.

  2. @javier-m75

so now we're going to see idiots walking around the streets with these big ass goggles? thank you very much apples not we dont have enough with idiots getting into accidents because their on their stupid cell phone.

I would like you to explain, "Breaking the social contract" more. I understand what the social contract is but I wasn't clear how it applied to what you were talking about

    Hello, dear,

I am suffering from severe nearsightedness. Can Apple glasses help address my problem?

    Best regards.

For as much as I agree with a lot of what’s been said, I think that we need to remember that this device has been out for all of ten minutes. Should we really expect a perfect product. The V1 iPhone didn’t even have very copy paste or an App Store. We just seem to be ready to call it bad without really take in with in context. With all devices and not just the Vision Pro. Show me a VR product that doesn’t leave you somewhat disconnected from your reality or anything more than a personal experience. This feels like (as said in the title and video) it’s a beta product getting ready for AR glasses. I think this is a really interesting product. Too rich for my blood though. I think that this will push other company’s and the field in general.

I really, REALLY dislike how tech YouTube will sometimes turn into a mindless echo chamber. “Tech bros” repeating the same inane talking points. Before the AVP release it was Apple’s “shameful 256 GBs of storage.” Now you’re all repeating the Verge’s sudden concerns over social isolation. That horse has already left the barn. Have you ridden a train lately? Been in a coffee shop? Worked out at a gym? We have been tuning others out for over a decade. People are no more isolated in the VP pass through than they are isolated when on the phone talking with friends or reading on a Kindle.

This is my favorite review so far—I really appreciate being able to see the cameras hidden in the front facing glass.

  8. @TENET_RAJ

Devi sir waiting to see you on live for long 🫶🫶❤️

  9. @JRPGGUY

For $1999.99, better battery with the battery built into the unit, more storage, the latest M3 chip and 120hz refresh support I might be able to defend it

  10. @TsarHare

yes, show myself myselfs' perfect wifes with the help of technology, gratitude apple.

  11. @Batman-dm7wy

Yeah sheeple follow the latest fad from Apple all hyped up by the Apple devotees oh and $3500 really and of course there will be similarly overpriced add ons and accessories wake up Apple nerds it's overpriced the Chinese will probably churn out a clone for $300 very soon!

  12. @Ghost-jy9hk

Definitely a beta product that will get better over time. Early adopters. Have at it! Enjoy it. But for the masses, we’ll be patiently waiting until version 3

  13. @JamesGowan

I think you’re in the minority. Every video I’ve seen has a VERY positive response

  14. @domlarry

For the price it's not good enough I have tried it very ho hum product

  15. @razmsu

I couldn’t focus on any part of this review with that huge zit on the dudes forehead. Good god. Look in the mirror before going on camera.

  16. @SteveLuiting

Hmmm. Now we need Starlink backpacks and we can go anywhere.

  17. @SteveLuiting

Ahhh, META has pass through with color and is essentially the same thing. The difference is that Apple did it better in quality. Still no shared movie experience…

  18. @ropro9817

I don't understand how all these nerds wearing a $3500 face computer on the streets aren't getting mugged. 😂

  19. @mark-hollis

Tech journalists are really weird. If someone would build an actual time machine the still would moan about that it gives them a headache or that it is too expensive. And speaking of price: I don't get that people are complaining about that $3500,- price tag. It is a huge collection of high end tech in a relatively small housing and does some many things so much better than any of the rivals. Heck, even my laptop or my tv cost more than this and can not do half of the stuff this device does. I am no apple fan boy but it really annoys me that everybody is always complaining about everything.

Excellent video – thanks for the coverage. FWIW, from my perspective, the digital personas are just not that important a feature to get worked up about. If I need to make a FaceTime call, I'm going to use my iPhone almost all of the time and only use the Vision Pro when absolutely necessary or for testing.

  21. @christenorio81

What if apple give movie studios an rendering plugin for vision pro for 3d movies remastered

  22. @vmpgsc

Apple is planting a flag in the ground with this V1 product. They'll use what they learn from the market and release a perfected V2 product — along with getting supply chain ready to support V2. The press and overall excitement around Apple Vision Pro are worth more than the actual sales figures, IMHO.
