I am somewhat surprised that Apple would release a new Mac Pro as unremarkable as this one. It's unlikely to satisfy many users. I guess finding a way to deliver user-upgradeable memory and support for 3rd party graphics cards was just too difficult for Apple to do. Unfortunately, the PCI express implementation isn't as we'd hoped for either with only 2 PCIe lanes sharing the bandwidth of 6 PCI express slots. In the past, the Mac Pro always had a CPU that made it stand apart from other Apple offerings. This time the Mac Studio and Mac Pro have the same CPU. Apple makes their own Silicon, so Apple chose to do this.
Just give us a 27in iMac already! What are you waiting for? Take my money! ๐

You need to check the video from the Apple event, because I think they leaked their new Apple Watch ultra because of the design of the watch itself is different small changes but itโs different. Itโs more rectangular and more rounder corners

What was Apple thinking, releasing the 15" MacBook Air NOW!? The M3 is just around the corner. Maybe as soon as October 2023. It will, most likely, be put in the 13" MacBook Air, first. What will Apple do with the 15" model then? Will they update it then, which would make the M2 15" the most shortlived Mac in history? Or will they sell M2 (15") and and M3 (13") models side by side, which will be very confusing to most customers?
I predict that this will, severly, harm sales for Apple. Not to speak about the bad-will from those who feel cheated, a couple of months ago. I was planning to buy a 15", but has decided to wait a couple of months to see how Apple handles this dilemma. Which is what I'd advice anyone else to do, as well.

36GB ram instead of 32GB is unlikely… sounds more like a typo… since the 36GB doesn't really fit with any common chip sizes in RAM
The Mac IIci cost nearly $7000 30 years ago, and people did not complain too much. It was not even the most expensive Mac, the IIfx was.
Hopefully the new iMac will be released soon. My 2024 MacBook Pro canโt handle high resolution videos like 4K etc. It doesnโt even play them!

It's strange that the M1/M2 can only play WOW at 31-41 fps @2560×1600. I was playing Diablo 3 the other day, same res, graphics maxed and I was easily getting 120 steady on my M1 Pro. I know the M1 Pro is more powerful but not by that much. Is WOW just super hard to run?
Sorry to be negative, but could you please try to be a bit more accurate in future? You mentioned the M2 Ultra had up to a 3.3x faster CPU and 6.1x faster GPU compared with the M1 Ultra. This is wrong, as these comparisons were not with the M1 Ultra at all, but with a 27 inch iMac with an i9 10-core CPU from 3 years ago. Itโs a bit more digging to get through Appleโs marketing bs, but please try to be more accurate as you have a large audience and what you said can be quite misleading. Thanks ๐

This year line-up does not make sense, from a customer point of view. Apple (and the inflation) is actively screwing us, more and more. And I do not give my consent. Maybe, the US customers do not feel the burn of every year price raise, but from a non-dollar market, the increases are very very hard to swallow "every each year" !!!

Hereโs a suggestion for the iMac, Appleโฆ
1 – use or redo the current Studio Display chassis
2 – add M2 or M3 SOC inside with several configuration options
3 – add a generous IO in the back (USB-C 3 an 4 – 4 to 6 ports, HDMI, legacy USB, Ethernet, SD reader)
4 – rename it Pro, Advanced or whatever you want to call it and add it to iMac line up

How can a 4K 15 minute clip take over an hour to render on the M1 iMac? My 2017 iMac can do it under 15 minutesโฆ. I can render faster than 1:1 but rarely go over 5 minute clips. Unless there is major throttling going on I call bullshit.
Who uses 128gb of ram ???
