Maybe later, the Canary Channel in Windows 11 is for a developing for Windows 12 in next year. And also, the Dev Channel is for Windows 11 version 23H2 or later.
How stable will the new dev channel be? I'm currently on the beta channel now and have no problems with it, but I was on the dev channel in Windows 10 and was always having crashes.

Canary and Dev channel are the best to cover.
Despite the lack of documentation, please try to cover all the features and changes and fixes you find in every build. I think that would be useful to Many, me included.
I dont know about their changes. But after about 20 unsuccessfull attempt with 25309 (Although successfull on 3 out of 4 computers I own) , it has now completely disappeared from the windows update ! Weird MS behaviour to say the least.
I've been running Insider Builds since the beginning of the program… lately these builds have major issues where I actually thought I had hardware problems. I discovered the Beta and Dev channel is slowing down my NVMe drive (loss of 20% read/write speeds), effects Video card performance and effects memory performance too. Although I did like the new features, the performance loss is unacceptable. Hopefully, this will get fixed. Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't often listen to average enthusiasts comments.

I have been on Dev channel, and my latest is 25309. I was put into the canary channel. Hopefully, this new channel will be as stable as previous dev build up to 25309.l Otherwise, I may have to go back. To all those who are not sure, I can tell you that I have been on dev channel for Winn11 since the beginning, and have had no problems. Then again, I am cautious when it comes to using Vive tool, and activating new feature…
FYI: Canary is pronounced the same way as the canary bird. You are pronouncing it like the "Cannery" factory that cans food products. If you ever talk to any Microsoft Dev in person and pronounce it as "Cannery" ..they are gonna laugh at you.
The canary release technique was inspired by the fact that canary birds were once used in coal mines to alert miners when toxic gases reached dangerous levels. Somewhat gruesomely, the gases would kill the canary before killing the miners. However, this provided a warning to get out of the mine tunnels.
I was originally using the Dev channel for a while now, then after they introduced the canary channel, they automatically moved me to the canary channel. (Just saying)
The canary channel for windows insiders is just like using Chrome Canary for early updates.
