Truly a nuisance problem. I check my emails via IONOS prior to my network, then a local check/scan and if still unsure I manually check the sender's address. I wonder how much bandwidth is absorbed with this cr**?

Watching it on my tv now. You have a lot of emails to read Brian. All the best and thanks for the video. Do you save attachments and load them in virus total if you are unsure?

No matter how many times we tell people this information they still do not listen. We get this at least once a month at my job. Not every email goes to the junk folder that is spam.

l only ever use thunderbird on linux to open any emails and always check the senders address, my sis in law got hacked and sent me an email with a zipped pictures folder, l opened it on windows, never again will l use email on windows, did all the right checks, l knew the sender and her son just had a 21st, so a pictures folder seemed legit, just before i opened it, i thought that it was clever of her to know how to zip a folder, that should have rang warning bells, a quick call saved a lot of the family from being infected , but some of us were. i still use windows, but not for emailing or downloading, l use linux mint for that, and jumping between the 2 is no bother even for an old bloke like me, since adopting this practise, i have never in 6 years had a malware or virus infection on windows or even linux for that matter, downloaded heaps on linux but they are harmless as they are all meant to attack windows

Well I was going to share the tale of an email I received that was so bad in it’s English senders story that literally made me laugh, but seeing the unedited template you received from the only person that could make Homer Simpson a Mensa master was pretty bad. I can laugh at these as I can quickly see whether an email is legitimate or not, but awareness videos like these are great and need to be constantly shown and share to tackle phishing and email fraud.

Hi Brian, as a reward for making helpful video's, I've bought you a ticket for the ATM lottery – It could be you! Fingers crossed for you mate!! 😂😂😂
Another Y-tuber I watch had an E-mail from YouTube (apparently) advising him that he had a few suspect video's with breaches and to reply back to the E-mail with his log in details to prevent from having his channel removed/deleted. They target everyone these days 😕
    👍

You may not be aware, it happens to many, but you said the word 'basically' eight times in your video. The word basically is a filler word and is overused nowadays, and it is misused most the time. In one sentence you used it twice to describe something in full and there was nothing basic about it. I'm so used to listening to conversations, watching videos, etc., that the word just sticks out when I hear it.

i actually googled this and came upon your video. I received a spam email saying it was from Google informing me they found suspicious activity. i was to reply yes or no. i googled this and the response was google sends you an SMS text. so definitely do not respond to the spam email, because of course, that's why it goes directly to spam. i have never received an email directly from google, unless it was the improper log in or from a different computer.
