What’s up, guys? So, this is the Insta360 Ace Pro, a super-premium and powerful action camera featuring a 1/1.3-inch Liper sensor capable of shooting up to 8K resolution video and up to 48-megapixel photos. And this camera boasts a vast number of impressive features jam-packed into a small, compact unit. So today, I want to share with you guys my top 16 favorite features of the Insta360 Ace Pro. Let’s go.

So, my favorite feature, starting at number 16, is the new flip screen design, which is so incredibly useful. You have a rather nice 2.4-inch touchscreen display, which is very responsive and fun to use. The screen can be flipped out by pressing the quick release button, and there’s one button on either side. So, you press the buttons, and then you can flip the screen up. The screen flips up up to 180°, and the flip screen is so useful if you’re into shooting Vlog videos. Now, you can also see we have a secondary small info screen on the front, showing you things like battery resolution remaining, recording time, and so on and so forth.

Today, I’m checking out the Insta360 Ace Pro, and I guess this is going to be a low light sample. I’m in the London Aquarium, not really, I’m in Chessington Aquarium Sea Life, and inside there, we have sharks and stingrays, and it’s nice and warm in here so I’m spending a bit of time in here. But low light footage on the Insta360 Ace Pro, this is what you can expect.

Now, my favorite feature, number 15, we have a brand new magnetic mount. Here it is. So, this tiny thing is included in the box, it’s a small magnetic mount. Now, let me show you how it works. So, at the bottom of the camera, we have these square cutouts, and you’ve got magnets inside. Now, the mount simply clicks into the squares, it is not going to come off, that is super secure. To release it, you’ve got two quick release buttons on either side, press them, and then you’ll be able to pull it off. So, it means you can mount this camera to any of your existing Universal GoPro action camera accessories, and it’s very easy to mount and unmount the camera. So, an incredibly designed mount, super strong and secure, and I absolutely love it.

Now, at number 14, we definitely have to mention the smartphone app, which is available for both Android and iOS. It’s a very useful smartphone app. Not only does it help you connect to the camera, download firmware, etc., but it also allows you to wirelessly download your files from the camera to the phone. Now, you also have a vast library of editing features, along with impressive new AI features which we will be discussing shortly. And also, one of the most useful features of the app is the background downloading. So, once you download your footage from the camera, the Insta360 app can be minimized to run in the background and continue the background downloading of your files, leaving you free to use your phone and undertake other tasks. This is a pretty darn good feature, as GoPro and DJI both require the app to be kept open throughout the entire transferring process.

They call that a vegan burger, but it’s basically a corn burger, exactly like a corn burger, so they’re technically right, but I was expecting better. Okay, so moving on, my favorite features, number 13, AI highlights. Now, if you swipe down from the top, you can see their AI highlight feature is active and it is switched on. Now, this feature is very useful and can save you time, effort, and SD card space. So, you can use the AI highlight assistant in the camera or you can use the smartphone app. I’ll show you how it works, open up the gallery app, and if you see a flag and a number next to any of your videos, that means a highlight is available for it. So, if you tap the video in question and at the bottom, if you tap on the highlight, you can see it’s suggesting 6 seconds of that one minute something video as the best moment of that video. You can proceed to save that or you can even fine-tune it and select the parts you want to keep and delete the parts that you don’t want. So, that’s the AI highlights feature, certainly a nice feature to have, yeah.

Now, feature number 12 is another AI feature, it’s called AI warp. So, the AI warp feature will let you add dynamic effects to an entire video or a selected clip or subject, and you can add AI effects based on some template presets, and the end result is pretty darn remarkable. Now, while it’s generating the AI warp, let me show you what you get inside the box. You’re going to get the camera, you got the magnetic mounting system, and you’ve got another attachment here like a stand, like an adhesive stand included too. There is also a type-C to type-C charger in the box, and then you’ve got all your user manuals and stuff, and not forgetting the fun Insta360 stickers. So, that is pretty much everything you get in the box. All right, so our AI warp video is complete, let’s view the result together.

Okay, so moving on to my favorite features of the Insta360 Ace Pro, number 11 is waterproof body. So, just like the GoPros, this action camera features an IPX8 waterproof body capable of filming 10 meters underwater without needing any other cover or accessory. But of course, you do need to ensure that the latches are closed on both sides. So, you have a large latch on one side for your battery and on the other side, you have a smaller latch for your micro SD card and your type-C charging port. And in case you’re wondering, maximum SD card capacity is one terabyte, which again is quite good.

It’s raining, guys. People are standing on the trees, JJ, and it’s a flood. That brings us to number 10, best feature, battery life. You get a 1650 mAh hour removable battery, and it does last quite a long time. Now, I was at Chessington World of Adventures, the theme park in the UK. I managed to film on and off throughout the day on a single charge. So, I was capturing all the best moments, and the camera lasted me all day without issues. Now, Insta360 does promise up to 100 minutes of 4K 30 recording. So, in my real-world use, I was switching the camera on as required, capturing some nice moments, and then sticking it back in my bag or pocket, so I did not have to charge the camera throughout my whole day at the theme park. It lasted me from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with no issues, and I was actually filming at 4K 60 resolution throughout, and the photos were all 48 megapixels. So, yes, very decent battery life, but what makes things

better is my favorite feature, number nine, fast charging. This is a feature that I really appreciate, like thank you Insta360 for giving us fast charging. The Ace Pro can charge from 0 to 80% in just 22 minutes, and full charge takes around 46 minutes using a 30 W charger. So, most of us will already have a 30 W charger with our smartphones, and even most power banks now support 30 watts. So yes, really appreciate the fast charging. So for long recording sessions, you can actually hook this up to a power bank, you can see it’s charging and you can record video at the same time. How convenient is that, guys?

This is a lion. He used to be in this zoo 1997 to 2015, s literally lifelike statue of that lion. That’s incredible. Okay, so moving on to number eight, super cool feature called slow motion. 4K slow motion video recording at 120 frames. So not a new concept but absolutely love the slow motion results of this camera. Super clear looking 4K slow motion videos look stunning.

Now, number seven is Active HDR. Active HDR will keep your video stabilized during sports and activities, giving you a more detailed, vibrant, and stabilized video capture. Active HDR works automatically when you select 4K 30 or any lower resolution and frame rate. If you select 8K, you can see HDR is crossed out. If you select anything higher than 4K 30, the HDR will not be active. But when you select 4K 30, you can see HDR highlights, that’s the same with every other frame rate as long as it’s 30 frames or under.

Number six is another very cool feature, it’s called Pure Video. Now, the Ace Pro features a 5-nanometer AI chip which takes low light video recording to another level, giving you better noise reduction, enhanced brightness, and also improving the dynamic range. So for low light shots, just switch the camera to Pure Video mode and away you go.

Oh, there just above your head, just above my head, I got the shot, this is incredible. Now, my favorite feature of the Insta360 Ace Pro, number five is Voice Control 2.0. Now, Insta360 has improved the voice control algorithm, making it easier to control the Ace Pro with your voice, especially when the camera is a little bit far away or mounted to a tripod and out of reach. So, you swipe down, select voice control, and then you can say things like take a photo, hopefully you heard that shutter button but a 48-megapixel photo photo was just taken there. Start recording, so you can see video is recording right now. Stop recording, so the voice control works regardless of what mode you’re in, so very impressive voice control.

But we’re going to leave that camera right there, we’re going to flip it around because that number four is an awesome feature which I was surprisingly using a lot, gesture control. So, you can use your hand gesture to start video recording, so you can see video is recording right now, hand gesture again and it stops recording, and it’s extremely sensitive, it works every single time. If you show the peace sign, it takes a selfie, and you can see I’ve got it set on the timer, awesome. Let’s do that again, selfie. All right, video.

It’s incredible how these features are not gimmicky, they just work exactly how they should, you can see a lot of effort has gone into making this work well. Now, number three feature is not so obvious, but it’s something that I do certainly appreciate, the ability to pause recordings. So, if we switch to video mode, start recording a video, you can pause the video. Now, recording is paused, you can tap it again to continue recording, and now that we have activated the pause system, it also works with the shutter button, so you can see it’s pause the video and then the video continues when you press it again. If you want to stop the video, you need to tap on the red circle in the corner. Very nice feature again, the ability to pause recordings and resume it just means you have less little files to play with when you want everything combined into one.

At number two of my favorite features of this action camera, the feature is called continuous recording. If we swipe left, you open a gallery, let’s find a video that I shot earlier, hit pause. What I can do here now is hit that record sign and I can continue recording at the end of that current clip. What type of sorcery is that, guys? So imagine opening any video within your gallery, tapping the record button, and continue recording more footage at the end of that clip, that is pure magic, guys. No other action camera that I’ve tested in the past has been able to do this. In fact, my flagship smartphones natively cannot do this, so I was quite amazed seeing this one in action.

Now, at number one, my most favorite and welcomed feature is Clarity Zoom. Now, to use it, you simply double-tap and it will zoom 2x without any loss of detail. Tap again, double-tap again, and it will zoom out, double-tap again, it will zoom in, so you can just think of it as 2x optical zoom, no loss of detail, 2x, you can zoom into any subject, and it will give you the same great quality video capture.

So, there you have it, guys, the most versatile feature-packed action camera you can buy right now. I’m a guy that loves filming with smartphones, I find it very convenient, but using this action camera totally replaced my necessity to take my phone out of my pocket. The action camera films beautiful 4K video with superb active HDR, and you can also film up to 8K resolution when you need to. Stabilization is one of the best in the business, audio capture was also pretty clear even in high winds. This action camera is all you need, it’s a complete filming studio in the palm of your hands with a vast number of editing and AI features.

The flip screen is pure genius, especially if you’re into making vlogging videos. If you’re a travel vlogger and you’re used to carrying around a hefty camera, let me tell you right now, this is all you need. The 4K clarity is amazing, it will literally show you every mark and blemish on your face, the detail is that good. The audio clarity and capture is also great, I never felt the need to connect an external microphone, although it is supported if you want to. Battery life is also very good and the fast charging makes your life simple. Now, this is without a shadow of any doubt my new favorite action camera of this year. In fact, it’s the best action camera I have used so far. That concludes my video of the Insta360 Ace Pro.
