Over the course of several games and years, NetherRealm Studios has proven that it’s capable of delivering captivating tales in its fighting franchise, and with the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1, we might just be in line for the most captivating one yet.
There’s no shortage of excitement about how its rebooted timeline will twist and turn, and what new wrinkles and changes it’ll add to things, places, and characters that have become familiar to series fans- which, of course, means there’s plenty of theories floating around about that stuff as well. Here, we’re going to go over a few theories that we feel have a pretty good chance of actually coming true.

4:33 these are awful and look so out of place. If you're gonna have little snippets during the verses screen, at least tell the voice actors "talk as if you're about to fight", the voice acting is as if they're walking along a beach staring at the sunset. Really bad.

i think that be more interesting, to have original scorpion be noob, and original sub just becomes a big baddy that gets heat from new scorpion.
I haven’t watched yet but my personal theory is that Shang Shung is going to team up with Kronika as the new “Deadly Alliance” and Onaga will be the surprise villain that shows up halfway through the campaign.

I have a take on who Hanzo is, though I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else bring it up; I think Hanzo is Smoke. He's already got the tragedy down (really early on, but I'd argure that it counts), and his relationship with his adopted brothers (and theirs with each other, for that matter) is going to be a point in the story.

If it’s a new timeline and considering Hanzo is such a formidable warrior it wouldn’t be too far fetched to say that lui lang gave Hanzo dominion over nether realm. Right?

Hanzo will come into this timeline from another one, already having become Scorpion. I hope he's not a dumbass manipulated by someone this time.
