I think the new quick setting feature is a feature designed for touch screen users. And this has to do with Microsoft's comments that Windows 12 will care more for touch users in addition to traditional mouse users. If you look at the prototype photo of Windows 12, which was released in the Microsoft ignight 2022 presentation , you can see that it was designed for the touch screen more than now, and you thought of the touch user experience.
Of course, Microsoft has not yet made any official comments about Windows 12, and it has not been officially confirmed that the next Windows is named Windows 12.
But there is a lot of speculative evidence.The prototype photo says "next velly prototype", and next velly is changed to Hudson velly (rummer, uncertain), and the present name is changed to gallium (confirmed) I'm not sure, but from various circumstances, next velly (now gallium) is the development name of Windows 12. As if manganese, iron, and cobalt were the development names for Windows 11 when it was developed (at the same time, Microsoft confirmed that it was the development name for Windows 11 after it was officially released).
