im finally upgrading from s9+. I think 4-5 year life cycle for phones are good enough.
This version might be a flop.. bad economy, inflation, not that many improvements, bad trade in deals, etc. Phone really for customers looking to upgrade from possibly 3+ years old phones. Maybe next year
Samsung phones have peaked since S21.
There's alot of improvements going into the 23 ultra line from the 22 ultra. I myself am trading in my 21 ultra for the 23 ultra. Not only does the 200mp mode in daylight blow the 108mp mode out of the water when you zoom in, but it keeps its sharpness across the entire image unlike the 108 which can be softer towards the edges. Almost like, they're actually able to utilize the hp2 sensor properly. Night time 4k video, night time pictures, nightography, day time 4k video, video and picture stabilization, day time pictures, selfies all around, battery life, selfie portrait video is higher res, super steady mode is now 2k, 8k video uncropped and at 30fps, dynamic range, better isp slightly upgrading the zoom cameras and zoom night mode photos. Those are just some of the improvements going into the s23 ultra from the 22ultra itself. Some are more drastic improvements then others. Do you care about those is the question. If you have a 22 ultra than I would say yes, since your last purchase was at the top of the phone chain.
My iPhone 7 Plus just died on me looking for a new phone
It has extremely slow charging speed. That's one thing this does not have. At all.
I still have an s21 ultra. I need a new phone…
This made my mouth water…
Currently have an S10+, so this will be a major upgrade. But understandable if you have 21 or 22. Not worth the switch. It should ship by mid next week. Super excited.
I will definitely upgrade from my 21 to 23. Or should I get the iPhone 14? Is decisions decisions. Never care for iPhone, but just maybe I will give it a chance.
This video is not a genuine review to be honest
Look at the rest of the great channels (in tech and smartphones) see how they review it
This is video totally said the wrong way!
Believe me i've used it
You should provide CC for the deaf and hard of hearing community.
This review does come off a bit…..complaining about nothing, the 8K 30FPS look good and can be cropped down for extra detail. Also, regardless of how high the resolution, video taking on phones just sometimes don't look like they're hitting their actual resolutions. Astro photography is a thing on Pixels since Pixel4 I believe. The Spen is a pen, I don't know what else you expect out of that lol. Otherwise the other points were great, but to be fair, the ultra line is forenthusiasts, so they wouldn't mine digging through settings and tweaking and such
Really glad i watched this. I have the s22 ultra. And honestly i dont see a single big difference. I feel the 200mg sensor isnt really a major difference to the s22 ultra. The s22 ultra truly blew my mind with pictures of my daughter at the splash pad. It picked up the water droplets splashing in the air and was clear as brand new glass. Ill stick with my ultra 22. Thanks for the video.
I'm so sick of tech reviewers spending so much time talking about how the design is the same as last year, and then complaining about it. Samsung still made refinements to an already great design. Then the same reviewers praise iPhones every year and yet Apple uses an identical design for 3+ years. It's crazy.
Such a complainer this guy is. Now if he was reviewing an iPhone he would be saying everything Apple did on "the new version" is so good!
Definitely these folks at Engadget get money from Apple. Or they buy Apple stock.
He just recommended people to get a Pixel7Pro versus getting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 overclocked. 😂 Nah, I'm good getting real advice somewhere else.
Can't believe this Engadget content.
Post Edit portrait video mode, like Cinematic in Iphone.
This could be a major improvement on S Line….
Us reviewers really are biased lol they are campaigning so much for the iphone because of its losses in China. And oh, I'll be getting this phone and best believe I'm recording in 8k because I'm getting the 512 version and doing a lot of recordings especially at night. I'm sure when Apple does this it would be the best thing ever.
Sucks to be living in smelly NY and get great shots of the stars at night. Samsung 23 Ultra beats any Android phone out there and makes the Pixel a kids phone, and no, Pixel is a boring ass phone like Apple, besides, if I wanted a cheaper phone I would by the S22 Ultra.
Christ that pepperoni pizza looked like a neon sign.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9, last time I upgraded was roughly 5 years ago. Although I do agree there is not much difference between the s22 and s23, the s23 does beat the legacy technology from the s20 and more. Also the im excited myself with the Snapdragon chip. I've read about the Exynos chip, which left me very pleased to hear about Snapdragon being incorporated. Fingers crossed for the s23! 😆
Zero people I know waited for s23 ultra. S23 is the choice of many people
