You should use a pi to wrap your telnet connection in an SSH connection…. A pi on the local network will make the telnet connection and you connect to it over SSH from the internet

I use telnet to check if a port is open on a server, and has a program listening to it. So if I do "telnet 10.10.10.10:666" and a connexion succesfully gets established, it means that :
    1) I'm able to reach that port (i.e. it is not blocked by any firewall)
    2) AND there is a program on that server listening to port 666

If multiple hosts connects to a server using telnet and let's say try to start or stop the same service won't there be any conflict? How is this handled?
