With Autumn slowly approaching, we’re getting closer and closer to a possible PlayStation event of some kind. Or at least, that’s the hope. Sony still does things in a somewhat unpredictable manner. So while it’s not guaranteed that a Showcase is coming, let’s do a quick portfolio review on PlayStation Studios and figure out what we could expect. Because it turns out, we’ve still got a lot of waiting to do for many of them. Also, and this is just a random aside: I miss Legends of the Hidden Temple. Olmec was my boi.

I’m so sad studio Japan was closed.
Looking forward to psvr2, the original wasn't great, but I understand it was lowend, to keep the price down, psmove let it down alot.
Since the pandemic changed a lot of things… it's more likely that Sony is taking a cautious approach to making game reveals with games, especially 3d sequels or new projects that are closer to being finished to give the game devs plenty of time to optimize for all the whistles like 4K HDR, 120Hz modes, VRR 120Hz mode, 60fps modes, etc.

It would be awesome if we get some China hero project updates or some long time hidden games they've had in the making like Lost Soul Aside or especially ESPECIALLY Project Awakening. Been dying for an update on that lol Hope project Eve gets a date too. Ain't putting high expectations on them but it would be a nice surprise
I’m really hoping for a new Sly game to bring in a new generation, they haven’t had a new addition to the francise since 2013 and it didn’t even come to the PS4. But at this point I’m totally ready to be disappointed yet again

8:58 the fact they are investing more into GaaS games than traditional games, and expects 2.5x more in digital add ons (IE. microtransactions) than digital software sales is pretty frightening to where PlayStation is heading tbh.
Tbh I'd really love some more PC port announcements. Built myself a fantastic PC just a month ago and I'd be thrilled to replay some of my favorite PS exclusive games on it. More indie titles are always welcome, too!

I don't know what world you live in but here in reality the first two years of PS5 generation has been a complete and total cluster fuck in both console and games delivered
People need to relax and just enjoy the ride. Sony always has awesome stuff up their sleeve around the corner. It will come when it's ready and it's not like they've had a slow year. Horizon came out, God of War is coming. That's an awesome year.

Gosh we really need a ps5 patch but more importantly a PC port for Dreams, that game feels more like a PC game and probably would get a larger fan base on there.
Good video, but PS is looking pretty bleak going forward. Seems like there are less announcements now with all these new studios than their was when Sony didn't have them.
I just want Blue Point to do a PS5 patch for Shadow of the Colossus. And oh yeah STOP PAYING TO KEEP GAMES OFF XBOX. Spend the money on IP.

Announcements are dry right now for sure. It's def because the pandemic slowing things down, and the increased time it takes to make fully polished PS5/SeriesX games. Game projects now, from AAA and smaller studios, are bigger than ever before and require even more resources than ever!

I’d be totally cool if it was light on new announcements if it means some more PC teasing. I know a lot of people would be disappointed but if Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, or Ghost of Tsushima were announced I’d be very happy. Wouldnt even mind some old stuff being ported like PS2 exclusives like Ratchet, Sly, etc on PC. Easy enough to emulate for sure but I wouldn’t mind an official release with 4K 60FPS and all the other support you come to expect on current PC releases.
As a PlayStation player I don’t think they’re having showcase to be honest. Sony is moving very funny and very cocky. It seems them don’t want to be transparent at all. Just look at the GOW situation and it’s seems Microsoft is more on their mind with COD. 👀👀

Sony has a hostory of announcing games as early as 3 years away from release, so I'm pretty sure they'd find plenty to talk about. It would also be the perfect veny to announce Square aquisision.
