Vivo X100 Pro Review: Best Phone Camera For Stills

The Vivo X100 Pro is here, and yes, it has in my opinion the best camera for still photos. I have been absolutely smittened by the 100mm Periscope zoom lens that can capture excellent zoom photos. However, I am not a big fan of the hardware design and software, both of which I find slightly outdated in late 2023. Elsewhere, the phone runs on a Mediatek Dimensity 9300, with a 6.8-inch 120Hz OLED screen.

  1. Curve screens are very boring now and less practical. I used iphone for few days only and wow what a difference flat and wide screen can make. Now I start hating curve screens. I own Xiaomi mi 11 ultra phone. Apple is not my bread and butter. I hate apple for locking down everything. So I can't buy any apple or banana product under any condition. I hope android brands will come to sanity and will make flat screen flagship phone.

You should update and redo Wilife extreme. The stability on Originos x100pro is 88%. Vivo focuses on Originos and Domestic China market while funtouch is not that optimized.

  3. As a European user of the X80pro I just hope they have become better at tuning Android for us. Android Auto for example doesn't work properly, some BT issues too. Other than that, it's all about the camera for me so here's hoping they'll bring their flagship model over to us and support it properly. They may need to buy some advertising too, as so few people even know of the manufacturer.

It's just amazing. That's what I always wanted after 4 years, I will finally buy this. Any chance for pro plus with 8 gen 3 ?

This is so Superb 🎉 unfortunately it will not be releasing in the Phil. I believe.

I wish they didn't have a camera bump because I'm afraid that I might break it accidentally.

I am completely impressed with your clear review and mentioning the disadvantages before the features excellent review thank you
I am seriously thinking of owning a Vivo phone x100 pro+ after my current phone Mate 40 Pro

You sold me within the first 2 minutes of this video. Holy crap those photos with the filter was amazing

Edit: Your 25x photo does look uncanny.

Really excited for this phone with how you showed off all the samples!

    Those pics are outstanding!
Vivo can do street photography like a pro wow

  10. @TheHandbrake2

I only have 1 question. Where can you buy the global version with Funtouch OS, and do they ship internationally?

  11. @CZP-01

I'm gonna get the Chinese edition just for OriginOS 4.

Actually lots of professional photographers don't like 35mm and like a nice 20-24 mm as great for street photography

  13. @harryvlogs7833

Vivo screen is 3000 nits quite low compared to xiaomi and redmi and realme at 4500 nits on there display

Really great video as expected. I was wondering when companies would start using AI for the zoom shots, didn't expect it to be so soon. Once you pointed it out, it's hard not to see it. 10:37 looks very AI generated, not sure if I like it. Open up some interesting philosophical questions about photography. Great phone anyway, but the Oppo Find X7 Pro should surpass it in terms of cameras.

Nah 9300 heats up loads and throttles lots hate that they went with 9300

It must be a tough call for manufacturers: add a style/personality/filter to the photos to make them look great (as Vivo has done here), or make them look as realistic as possible.
There are some phones that produce very realistic shots (good colours, exposure etc), but I would prefer the stylised Vivo x100 pro shots all day long.
