  2. @user-su6tx6sr2w

AMD company need Money 💰, to resale old stock's with rebrand as 8000 series failed so 9000 series' more interesting just how many ghz

  3. @Dr-Itch

I have done that 3700x mistake of future proofing. 😅
    Now I’m looking for 5800x 3d or 5700 x 3d and new GPU.

  4. @mrivera3996

A component that I believe actually can be future-proofed is your PSU. It can remain in your system for a decade. Getting just enough PSU for now can cost you much more, in the long term, than oversizing it right off the bat, and the initial difference can only be $20-30. That’s much better than spending money on an entirely new PSU to support your shiny, new, beefy GPU that you snag down the road. But this mostly applies to people that know they are going to continue upgrading their GPU to a higher tier that will require more electron juice.

  5. @mattirealm

Good point on Intel. If you can believe it, Intel still owned 78% of the CPU market in 2023. Their 10nm stuff is good, but they really should have gotten on smaller nodes by now. Meteor Lake also was a bit "meh" so there is a lot riding on Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake upcoming and on 16th and 17th Gen chips in the next few years. They need to get their LGA 1851 MB's off to a good start and they can only do that if Arrow Lake is a great uplift over Raptor Lake, RLR.

  6. @yatox__

why does it feel like no one talks about the 4080 anymore its always the 4080Super

  7. @n.lundqvist2879

Ive been wanting to upgrade my CPU. Was going to get the 7900X3D, but knowing the new 9000series is coming this year ive thought of waiting for the 9900X3D, when do you think itll come? will the performance be mutch bigger on a 9900X3D vs a 7900X3D?

  8. @frostkaizen1985

Good point on RT, i feel the same way, its all about the upscale now, intel Xess 1.3 has given amd gpus a boost , because fsr is really bad.

  9. @soowie4599

raw rasterization > ray tracing, RT still has a ways to go, probably by the 70XX series, where it will be worth it!

  10. @Tithulta1

Never future proof, but you can buy with a mind towards the future in getting a MB with Gen 5 lanes everywhere, yes it overkill now, but as the build ages those faster lanes will eventually be usable for nice improvements. Also, I'm buying parts as i can afford them so i can avoid putting them on CC. Just waiting now for a MB i really want, if i bought it now i'd get the asrock Taichi Lite, but I kind of want to see the newer AMD chipset that will come later this year.

  11. @billlam7756

Just buy whatever, enjoy it. Come back in 2-4 gen upgrade/ sell your old shjt

  12. @notgosuu

Jason I wanted to ask if my Pc can handle 128gb of ram in total 2×48 and 2x16gb and my power supply is 1000W, a I9-13900k and 4070ti z790 motherboard

  13. @bradyfranks6739

Was about to buy a 7950x to upgrade from my 5950x. After seeing this im gonna hold off. I want a 5090 and 9950x lol

  14. Can you Build a $1000 Pc for architectural purposes? For ex. for Autocad, Sketch up, Lumion, and other structural application? Or can it work well if you build a gaming pc as well as using it for this purpose? I would appreciate your answer sir jason ♥️

  15. @rickbrick6689

well future proofing is not always bad:) . I got 7800x3d instead of 7600 and got it 4070ti super – plan to upgrade to 5080 in january. And I am sure that my CPU is quite good to not bottleneck next gpu upgrade 🙂

  16. @redhood9064

    Quick question.

ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A Gaming wifi or MSI MPG B650 Edge wifi?

  17. @Hjominbonrun

I would recommend upgrading to the 7800X3D if you are playing at 1080p, even with slower gpu's.
You will get more frames and if not, you will get consistent frames, and will never have that question in the back of you mind of whether your cpu is bottlenecking the gpu, and the comfort of not having to upgrade your CPU for years and years and years.
Once you have that, then wait a year or 2 and then you will be upgrading gpu's many times.
Not sure what massive GPU will be bottlenecked by the 7800X3D, but we talking Star Trek level graphic cards.

  18. @DenverStarkey

yeha they don't price cut the old cpus for awhile because they don't want price cut cpu's of last gen to wind up competing with the new gen , so what tehy do is price teh new gen higher and then cut both line's cost at teh same time. Remember the 7800x3d MSRPed at $450 bucks at that same tiem the 5800x3d was going for $350 adn continued to do so untill both teh 7800x3d and the 5800x3d finnally saw price cuts at the same time , now they can be had for $330 (5800x3d) and $370 (7800x3d). i suspect the 9800x3d will MSRP at $450 jsut like the 7800x3d used to

  19. Could you consider also doing some monitor rundowns? You give some great recommendations on builds, but how about also mentioning the best monitor at the price point for the system you're recommending?

  20. Okay so i built a pc back in 2023 with the following specs:

    32gb 3600mhz ram ddr4

    Ryzen 7 5800x

    Rx 6800

    850w psu

B550M motherboard for Smart Access Memory

And my friend liked this pc and decided to buy the similar specs.

So he got the same specs and that pc performs so much worse than mine, all his parts were brand new, everything works fine, tried benchmark programs he got better score than me but when it comes to gaming his pc just doesnt perform, we tried games like Rainbow six siege, Call of duty and Counterstrike, with all low settings and stretched 4:3 1440×1080 he got just over 200 fps, which is criminally bad. I play 1440p and get over 300 so its a huge difference.

I tried to fix his pc by getting the newest BIOS, troubleshooted RAM, Newest chipsets for the parts, fresh windows, Optimized windows (powerplans, reduced amount af backgrounda apps) Didnt mention it but XMP is also enabled for both of us. I've tried all the things i am capable of that is why i am reaching out to the community for help.

I tried taking out his gpu and placed it in my pc to see how it performs in 1440p and it performs well so the GPU is maybe out of the equation?

What i am suspecting is maybe a poor CPU? Just because of the fact that the pc performed better in 1440p than 1080p. And from what i know 1440p puts less stress on cpu and more on the gpu.

So please help me with this problem, what could it be? Faulty psu? Bad motherboard? What to do? What to replace?

  21. @Jwalker76

Thank you for your thoughts on future proofing. I totally agree with not going down that path. And thanks for telling us about the 7600xt not being good for a pcie gen 3 board. I was aware the 6500xt could have issues like this but not the 6600, 6600xt, 7600xt. Imhoping 7700xt doesn't have this issue as i want to use on with a b450 build.

  22. @NulJern

For the competitive gamers out there wondering.. 1440p 240hz or more, is better than 4k at 144hz.. But unless you aspire to be a pro or actually am a pro i would pick 4k, cause you can see better in the distance, but in a game like cs2 you don't need that really and you want the high hz instead… So if you are a pro or want to be, then you want the 1440p 240hz or more, cause it's just "faster"… Not to mention if you want 4k 240hz then you need a gpu that can do that, and that cost more 😀 If the choice was between 1080p 240hz and 1440p 144hz, i would go with the 1080p 240 hz, or wait and save up for the 1440p 240hz. it all depends how serious you are as a competitive gamer. Note higher refresh rate does NOT make you a better player, fyi…lol

  23. also thanks for mentioning players discovering optimized settings for helldivers. Ill look into that! hopefully get a big boost on performance too :3

  24. @UltimateTrucker

Jason I am still in Dilemma, need some clarification.

    I own a A520m MB with Ryzen 5 3600 and RX6750xt GPU.

With my current MB and CPU, I am unable to use the full potential of my GPU.

Should I buy B550 MB and Ryzen 5 5600x ( For performance and over locking )

Or Should I upgrade to AM5?

The thing if I upgrade to B500 MB is AM4 good for next 2-3 years?

  25. the problem with a 1440p monitor is most youtube videos are 1080p and they look so bad and blurry all the time 😭
tho when you get to see something in 1440p its so gorgeous : o

  26. @sharniek002

I'm more than happy with my 13600k (it's insane) so I'm not too upset about this. I initially wanted AM4 but DDR5 anything was way too overpriced at the time. I was also skeptical of whether DDR5 upgradability would really be possible as RAM speeds rise to who knows what.

  27. @samsolaka5435

I honestly i cant wait for 9800X3D cause I'm really disappointed with my 7950X3D, its not a Good CPU.

  28. @mgaming7

4K 32" monitors are the sweet spot. high PPI, lots of screen.
Couldn't care less about Ray Tracing. Minor gains visually for a massive fps hit.
I am waiting for the 5080/6080 or the like because my 3080Ti still has really good FPS as long as I don't use ray tracing.

  29. i'm just curious. Why don't you use the gpu cable feed through hole with the little sliding door on the pc case behind you? i have the G500 and it looks much better when you use this feature imho.

  30. @aaronmarrie

What do you have in the pc behind you? Looks very nice!

  31. @AQAVAR

YOU NEED TO CHANGE THAT POST IMAGE OF YOUR CHANEL !!!!!!
    It's like mornings ROASTER LOL.

  32. @sjewkes1

Path tracing is currently where ray-tracing was about 3-4 years ago, it is a huge performance hit for next to no gain for 90% of people and in maybe 30-40% of titles currently, whereas it was like 3 titles total before. I would estimate a GPU in about 5 years will be able to do PT at a level that is worth it. However, the jump from 1080p to 1440p is a huge one, and I would recommend it to anyone. OLED is…still not quite there for me, as it has a significant risk of burn in as people use their PCs for multiple tasks, but if they have the budget for an OLED gaming monitor that they can turn off and switch to a non-OLED for productivity tasks, by all means.

I think we are, in fact, hitting the limits of our current technology, and until the next massive jump happens, we will only see minor improvements in CPUs and GPUs YOY (without AI upscaling, which I don't factor into performance because it's not real performance).

  33. i must admit, i'm saving money to buy the 5080 in the future.
so changing to 4k is that awesome, uh?
i was thinking in staying at 1440p but full pathtracing… now i'm not sure what to do, haha.
i became addicted to raytracing thanks to cyberpunk 2077. i can't go back.
