I've seen a fridge commercial from the 60s or so where the fridge had a bunch of awesome and useful features like specific drawers, slide-outs and so on that looked way better than what fridges have nowadays, and I'm wondering why we don't have that anymore today. I'd rather have a practical fridge than one with a screen on it.

The browning was not even. It missed all the edges.
I'm surprised someone hasn't tried to make a new/current version of this.
Why did this design not in all toasters today? Are there drawbacks to this technology?
