Last October, Windows 10 stopped backing up the registry automatically.
Microsoft have announced that they have disabled system registry backup to the folder RegBack. This has been in place since Windows 10 1803, I think it’s a bad idea from Microsoft, scraping the system registry backup process. If you browse to to the WindowsSystem32configRegBack folder in Windows Explorer, you will see its empty or each file is 0kb in size. The RegBack folder is used by PC Techs to recover from a corrupt registry and is very useful. Microsoft recommends you to use System Restore, but this is disabled by default, which is another bad idea by Microsoft. To re-enable the system back up to RegBack, you will need to add a registry key to the registry.

I will show you step by step on how to re-enable this feature.

Navigate to this location in your registry.

HKLMSystemCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerConfiguration Manager
Add new DWord 32bit value called EnablePeriodicBackup and set value to 1
