Apple March Event 2023 – Mac Madness!

Apple did not have a November event this year, which means that Apple has a lot of Macs long overdue to be updated at their usual spring March Event. So in this video, I want to go over the latest leaks for just how powerful the M2 Max, M2 Pro, and M2 Ultra chip is going to be, some specific configurations we’ve learned about these chips, and what Macs we can expect to see in March like the new 14 and 16 inch M2 MacBook Pros, Mac M2 Ultra Mac Studio, M2, M2 Pro Mac mini, new 24 inch iMac, and maybe a new M2 Extreme Mac Pro!

his talking style reminds me of krazy ken, also a hardcore apple fan.

The Intel Mac Mini is for Musicians & Recording Studios needing compatibility for thousands of audio processing plugins acquired over decades.

Audio professionals do not require strong graphics performance so the Mac Mini is an ideal choice for them.

Too many audio workflows would break if these professionals were forced into Apple Silicon too quickly.

Plug-in developers are slow to upgrade to new architecture. Many of these will never be updated to Apple Silicon.

It is OK Apple has failed us with the Mac Pro, the 27 or 32 inch iMac, iMac Pro and the wild rumors of mac mini pro. There will be too many macs for March Mac Madness so I expect they will do the top three. I don’t expect any Mia Culpa for the Mac Pro especially in March. Spec bumps for the macbook pro, redesign of Mac Mini, spec bumps for 24 inch iMac and Mac Studio as well. These are not NEW computers with exception to the newish Mac Studio. This should warrant a March Event, but it will be boring since all they will do is talk about the M2 in similarly designed computers. Just get ready for those flashy CPU spec charts that don’t give you any real numerical information, fancy drone fly in video and the C Suite touting how they are the $hiznet.

more RAM is awesome but how much will they charge? I'm guessing it's going to cost a night with your wife and 2 fingers on your dominant hand.

HIGHLY disappointed if no iMac Pro is launched. Specifically one with 120hz “ProMotion”. They can’t do 120hz on monitors currently, but they can on all-in-ones

I am waiting until next year for the new Mac Mini, my trusty mac mini 2012 is still working

  7. FatGuy

I cant wait for a new mac mini, Apple needs to hurry up and take my money

I’m glad to hear there’s m2 chip mac studio is on the line. Cuz I was gonna get one soon. Renewed Mac pro will probably out of my budget.

Mini Mac Pro starting price $4999 single soc M2 Max 12 core 32 core. 32gb ram, 1tb storage.

They haven't transitioned iMac 27" to Apple Silicon.

I`m hoping to see an iMac for general duties ( not a very expensive pro model , but the option for that too in an iMac would be nice too ). with a at least a 27 inch screen ( are you listening Apple ? ) , I don't expect a super duper 5 k or 6 k display , 4k would be just fine .
the 23.9 inch display is too dam small , I think apple has done itself out of a lot of sales for this one single oversight by apple , I would have bought an M1 iMac upon its release except for this one deal breaker, and from the comments in past iMac videos many others felt the same.

I need a 15 or 16 inch fanless MacBook Air with oled or mini led display and with the pro speakers 😅ofc base M2 or M3 chip. I don't need a TV or anything but this could be my everything for media consumption and base productivity .

I think the Mac Pro will be like a Blade Server, with expandable cards containing CPUs + RAM you can add to your needs.
I don’t think they can spit the CPU & RAM and keep it the performance. It will have to support external sound and graphics cards or the “Pro” community will go bonkers.

I have a M1 Mac mini 512gb running on a LG C2 42” OLED and I love it, They would have to add HDMI 2.1 features for me to upgrade, also have a PS5 and XSX on the same TV.

Apple should make the SD card also work with CF-A card, like some Sony cameras in the MacBook Pro. After all, this is a pro machine. And hope apple will make a 15 inch MacBook Air with SD card slot come wit m2 pro.

  16. Johnny Haag

I look forward to the m2 pro MacBook Pro 14.
Let’s see what ya got Apple!

The Mac Mini M1 (16Gb/1Tb) I have now 😜 Always exciting what they put out although not as exciting as in the 2000's. I want them to do well though.

Prediction: The upcoming Mac Pro will be a 3D/VR/AR/AI content creator and overall Machine Learning beast. Apple SoCs already crush it in Video and Photo editing. Apple will finally offer a machine that will be a Hollywood-class 3D creation and render box. It won't be cheap but it won't hit the high-price-point of the previous Cheesegrater options. I would love to see Apple market this towards small shops and WFMers…giving them the ability to create "World-class" output on tight deadlines on a (relative) budget. Also, it will have some modularity….probably internal storage slots and maybe a PCIe-flavored "personality card" slot….but RAM and GPUs will likely still be "fixed" at purchase and non-upgradable.

  19. TheMaxAwesome

All I want for Christmas is eGPU support for Apple Silicon. Hell, even if it can only happen within Asahi Linux or something.

  20. Vitaliy K.

interesting how will they manage the power for new m2 max, will it drain more battery than previous m1max?
it's not 3nm so, we will probably get a louder laptop(because of higher temps) with lower battery life.

  21. Ryan C

”We’ve increased performance and made the MacBook Pro .008%% lighter by reducing all Pro models to 256Gb of storage. Our new iCloud (TM) services are better than ever, and we’re confident physical SSD’s are nearly a thing of the past. Purchase our iCloud with your MacBook Pro today, you’re gonna love our products”

  22. Imran Ali

What happened to a proper Apple-silicon replacement for 27” iMac? I have been waiting for that for centuries. Has that been completely scraped from the line-up?

  23. Mike Henkelman

I would say its likely that they will offer up to 128gig Ram in the M2 Max, which would give you 256 gig in the Studio (M2 Ultra) and 512 gig in the Extreme (Mac Pro)

  24. B Davali

Mac Mini Intel is still being sold because there are developers (like my son) who need to run virtual machines with VMWare(?) that apparently cannot run on Apple Silicon…yet.
