I think its also because of security. was a major flaw discovered recently in the M chips so that's why have to build a new one and start over from scratch

The problem is always the same: after the release of the M1.. we had the same issue… I have a M3 Max.. and it is a killing monster.. and I do video editing .. and I really do not need all this power… dove we will need the M4 Max o Ultra? As a Techgeak myself I love these power.. still it will be useless for a lot of people..
Apples user base undoubtedly has the highest number of people who would fall into the intersection between "computer enthusiast" and "knows very little about computers" on a venn diagram. Or at least the highest proportion of people given the size of it's user based with comparison to other groups such a Windows or Unix users.
I'm waiting for the M8. Why? Well that's the top model for BMW and so it stands to reason it should be Apple's top model. By then whe will have 0.5nm chips which means insane speed! The There will be at least 100 GPUs on the chip, AI that make ChatGPT 7 look pedestrian and will only run off 1 watt so you can power it with a small solar cell. I just can't wait!
What if you purchased a Mac with the M4 Chip. And then you wipe the drive clean and then install Windows 11. Would the M4 chip be as impressive using Windows versus Mac OS? Also, Apples problem is that they implant the Chip into the motherboard. When one builds an Intel or AMD PC, the motherboard allows you to upgrade the CPU. So, is the M4 Chip all hype? If they thought it was that great, than develop a Motherboard that would allow you to install the Chip without it being implanted into the motherboard. With my idea, if they come out with a M5 chip in a year, you could just pop out the M4 and put in the M5. I hate to say this, but Apple is just a rip-off!

Sounds more and more like the M3 was just a fill in to generate sales by convincing M2 owners they're not the kool kid anymore. Like a few recent iPhones. It's all about the Benjamins baby.

Yea but this is where apple is stuffed. Because the majority of their products don’t even have an M3 chip in them yet and they’re already allowing the M4 chip to be advertised!. It’s no wonder apples Mac sales are down at least 30%. Because people like me thought sod that I’m not buying them m2 when the better M3 will be out soon. Now people are going to think sod the M3 if the M4 is going to be way better in just a year!. It’s the dumbest marketing strategy ever, and that’s from the company with the best marketing. It’s insanity it’s bad marketing like the worst marketing and it’s showing because their Mac and iPad sales are in the toilet!.
Dumb dumb dumb marketing because what apple is doing and saying is don’t buy our products wait till this versions out next year oh oh actually wait for this version in 2026 oh actually this M7 will be the best ever. Which equals nobody buying any macs, hence apples Mac sales figures being down over 30%.
