I got satellite pro l830 and can't find clear pads or even the cmos battery, I've got one here that is wrapped in black taped using a heat gun and actually has black and red wires connecting to the board and that's the closest thing looking like a cmos battery, no pads near it tho or any writing

Hi. Thanks for the video and information. I’m not totally certain whether my issue is exactly the same so would like to check with you. I don’t want to change or remove the password.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50-A laptop, and when I power up, it goes past the Toshiba screen to the “enter password” screen (which I now understand is the BIOS password), however when I type in the correct password and then try to enter it, the screen stays stuck at this screen. Nothing I do will allow this password screen to change.

I cannot even hit F2 to enter the BIOS screen.

I keep finding various tutorials about Toshiba issues, but so far haven’t found any that I think specifically address this issue.

Would you have any advice on this problem for me, and why the screen stays stuck here even when I enter the correct password?

Also, if the BIOS battery (the CR2032j needs replacing, could this be the cause of my computer not letting me get past this screen?

Thank you for your time, it is much appreciated.

    Glenn.

OK either I'm electronically handicapped or I'm doing something wrong?

Several years ago I did this with succes. I think it's very brand and type related. And for a pity, there are no new Toshiba's on the market since 2016. I got two of them and in the near future I will buy a Dynabook laptop. I hope it's near the quality of my Satellites. Thanks for helping my knowledge of IT alive.
