I'm looking for a laptop which I can play good games on. And while playing not getting annoyed by the heat on my hands on the chassi and keyboard. I tested the razor blade 15 base and returned it because of the heat. I am wondering if the hp omen 15 does get annoying with the fan noise when I wear a razor blackshark x headset while playing games. And I also wonder if the fans get loud while surfing or watching youtube? For the moment I really consider buying the hp omen 15. But I am worried about the fan noise

I bought the Omen 15 Ryzen 4800 1660ti 144hz you review for $849 with 8GB ram during the Christmas time frame. Upgraded it to 16GB for $50. If you are web browsing/video/light productivity you can set the power to comfort or default and the fan never comes on at least for me. I have heard if you re apply thermal paste like Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut it will never come on under normal usage other than gaming or benchmark tests. If you are using this laptop for video or photo editing the Omen smokes the intel. I would never buy a laptop with the priority on premium feel especially at $900 price range. Save your money, buy a new laptop 2 or 3 years from now around black friday/Christmas time frame and only spend another $900. The only real advantage of the Razer is thunderbolt speed.

Thanks for the video. I am looking for a video editing laptop. Probably the Omen will be the better choice, but for sure i like the looks of the Razer. Any tests exporting videos? Build quality must be poor with a lot of the laptops, i am reading a lot about many gaming laptops and buyers are complaining.

Hello i have the omen 15 r7 2060 6gb 16gb ram 144hz and its opens fps 150-200 csgo on low options. Is there any problem or this is the fps on this laptop?
The razer blade is also $300-$400 more than the Omen. So the Omen is the laptop to beat with that amazing sub $1000 dollar price tag.

Hey, for some reason my omen 15 laptop with the ryzen 7 and 1660 limits the fps i get after a while having it unplugged. when i reset the computer it has non limited fps but after a little it limits at 250 fps, I have checked all the softwares on my pc and there seems to be no problem, do you know anything about this?
